I'm not sure about that... :p Maybe I'll give it a shot. Restoring right now, with lots of skepticism, this is reminiscent of my first iPhone 4 purchase. I'll keep you updated, what's interesting is that Horizontal photos/videos look great in any light condition (no faint green line whatsoever). Vertical photos are perfect as well, its just vertical videos where this issue pops up. I've taken several videos in different light conditions, all with the same defect.

Lol try it bro you wont break your phone dont worry

I am having autofocus problems too..only when trying to use the flash...

Here are examples of the bad pics I'm getting:

I am suspect that it is a white iphone issue..but could be wrong...do you have the black or white one (anyone who is experiencing these problems)?

i have a black 16 gb verizon iphone 4, if your phone is having focus problems, try flicking the back of your phone by the camera decently hard a couple of times, it should fix the focus motor inside if thats your problem

i think iOS 5 made the focus algorithm or whatever its on messed up, in iOS 4, the phone would flash, focus, then flash again and take the picture. doesnt happen in iOS 5

The green line is probably an issue with the camera sensor. It is different in video and camera modes because in video mode you are using a smaller portion of the sensor, so the problem is more obvious (Video will only use a 720P frame of the full 5MP resolution on the iPhone 4, essentially like a digital zoom.)

As for the autofocus, I seem to be having some issues with flash and blurry pictures in some test shots I have done, but I typically don't use the flash as it looks like garbage anyways. I'd rather just have no flash and deal with the high ISO noise.

Although in my tests the bluriness seems to come from camera shake rather than a focus issue, as the focus is the same before and after the picture, and it works fine without flash.

Maybe the flash metering algorithm is off on the 4S and it is choosing the same shutter speed as when you have the flash off?
