Cupertino time?

What time do we normally get this in London? I forget :D

Is it good or bad news that beta 8 would come out in terms of gettig iOS 5 released soon?

It'll mean longer til GM and release.

B8 today means GM pushed out 2-3 weeks.

No B8 today or tomorrow (B5 or 6 was on a Sat. IIRC), indicates that GM imminent, and most likely next week.

B7 still has major issues, so I would personally prefer more polish. But it's getting close enough that a GM -> Release might be enough to smooth it out.

I'm not really sure how it affects 'the plan' that Apple have. Given they're going to release iOS5 on/around the time iP5 is announced and given that this is still a good few weeks away, getting a beta today won't make too much of a difference. Getting another beta in 2/3 weeks will be bad (in the sense that we'll have to wait another few weeks before we can get our grubby hands on it)

I think your explanation is better than mine :-(

Well the Macrumors reported rumour was that we were getting BETA 8 today with GM next friday :)

B7 working spot on here, no issues at all from what I can see (iPhone 4 gsm).

On iPad the camera connection kit doesn't work with b7, at least not on mine!

I have been using Beta 7 with no problems but in a casual use environment. What current issues are you seeing? All ive come across is a bit of odd behaviour here and there with some apps and issues with the camera roll showing the wrong thumbnails/pictures upsidown.

Seeing as how this is pretty much the longest gap between beta builds in iOS 5 I am fully expecting B8 to hit today.

Windows wi-fi sync still doesn't work well. If you have itunes setup to wifi sync and it cannot find the phone or pad, it get removed from itunes and you cannot wifi sync again without connecting via cable. Far from "it just works". I would expect it to work more like home sharing where devices with wifi sync turned on are "found again".

iTunes play order for some playlists is really off (I found a workaround to get them ordered properly, but it is a big kludge).

As for timing, I expect beta 8 today (or maybe an RC 1). I think we will see the GM announced and released the day of the apple keynote with the official release about a week after.

Beta 7 on 5 devices here and from a casual users perspective its very solid. A few bugs, but I assume nothing Apple can't squash.

if they were to release a GM candidate, it would have to be RC1.. Unless Apple really wants to put out that advanced voice recognition software before the keynote
