so you seem to be very serious about this list. what are your plans with it? if all you want to do is make a list to be read here, you're kinda spinning your wheels, and the wheels of everyone who adds to the list.

Robocop got it right. I am making this list so that devs find a place where (hopefully) most of the user's input is organized and justified. They would then send their comments to Apple, in case they found any of the items worthy.

#12) Mail not having to double a file X number of times, where X equals the number of times it has been asked to open.

Thanks for adding this one, Blues!

Though can you change it from Mail to "Any app that sends a file to another app using the 'Open In...' feature" just to make sure they know it's not specific to Mail (just used that as an example) :)

Done. :)

Does anyone know if the new lock screen notifications show Calendar events before they happen or just when you set an alarm on the event?

It would be really useful to have it showing upcoming events (maybe with options to show how many).

It seems a shame to have this well thought out, comprehensive list of things we would realistically like to see still added to iOS go to waste.

It's not going out to waste. In a few days (still waiting for more feedback) I will warn some devs of this list. Perhaps they can then suggest some of these features to Apple.

I guess my comments were more referring to it slipping down from the front page and into obscurity. I was hoping to see more feedback from additional people.

You're welcome to give some yourself. ;):D

My two biggest requests (quick reply/compose and saving groups for SMS) are already on the list. I would like to see the group feature also able to do group emails though.

I'll quote a previous post I made, where I discussed how I would like to see implementation done for on the fly group messaging.

Also, additional group SMS/email support is a must for furthering the iPhone as a serious business device. Many businesspeople have groups they commonly send emails or SMS. The current implementation of having to click the + button and go through the list every time is time-consuming and tedious. Once a user has picked the first person they want to email or SMS, they should be taken back to the email/SMS app. If they then push the + button to add more people, the list of users should have checkboxes next to their names (or a dropdown if they have multiple methods of contact, each with a checkbox). The user should then be able to select however many of these people they want.

There should also be a method for saving that group in their contact list, so that a group does not have to be re-created or found in the previously sent list of SMS/emails. This would also allow for easily adding/removing someone from that group as needed.

They updated most of the things that I wanted in the Calendar app except for the option to 'snooze'.

Updated with the new posts and some taken from other topics. In little time I'll direct a dev to this topic.
