I would call mine Maximus. "Maximus, what time is it?" ... Oh yeah.
I'm naming mine, Miss Tesmacher... lol.

I better start practicing my Amererican accent. If it's like any other voice recognition software I have used, such as the android one, they struggle to understand us Aussies.
Very intriguing. But I've heard this kind of thing many times before...
Can someone who has used the similar system for Android comment on how useful it is in practice?
If it's really useful, I hope Apple can get it to work without an Internet connection.

That's brilliant!I've already named mine Ziggy. Like from Quantum Leap.
I've already named mine Ziggy. Like from Quantum Leap. My friends have named there's Hal, Vicky and Jarvis. We are total geeks I know........ However I have been waiting for this so I can can get answers from Ziggy. Cause hey like I said I'm a dork.
Voice recognition is usually impractical. Before you downvote me, consider how often you type things into your phone that you may not want everyone around you to hear for privacy reasons...."
i consistently use similar functions now. driving, in subway, walking, meeting up at a restaurant, on location, in editing suite, at clubs, tons of uses.....
" At home it may work, and even then, some things you don't even want your family to hear..."
uhhh, well my family is my gf and there are not many things i don't want her to hear...of course, i can't speak for others who may have secret lives' (actually sounds kinda like a bad movie idea, but...who knows?)
for me, as long as it delivers, I'm ready....
You talk into the phone, fills in the text, and hit send. The other person gets the text, they talk into their phone, fills the text, and they hit send. Why not cut out the middle man and CALL THEM!!!!!ha ha
This is neat but I'm not SUPER interested in speech-to-text per se. I am really excited about the so-called "Assistant", or whatever Apple does with its purchase of Siri.
I test drove an HTC Thunderbolt for a couple weeks (generous friend at Verizon). Speaking destinations for Google Navigator, Maps, Google Places, etc. are what I found most useful.

That would be a typically Apple-executed thing - not necessarily first (Android's speech is far more advanced than iOS'), but useful, executed sharply, and potentially trend-setting.
Maybe we can have something super advanced like, "Play song:"!

If the recipient is not able to receive calls and is therefore texting you.![]()
soo why can't why say that apple "copy" this feature, and the status bar from android?? no one says that?? but they say samsung copied from them. can someone explain that?
Thanks...
I'm imagining using it to "jot" down quick notes. E.g.
"remember to get eggs"
"Bob's phone number is 123-4567"
Of course, what I'd *really* like is for the software to automatically enter the data in the right place, but I guess that's a dream for now.
Nothing wrong with copying. Consumers win in the end. Oh and I'd ignore the idiots constantly attacking Samsung, they aren't true tech enthusiasts. Just sad fanboys.
