iOS 6 is MUCH better on my 4. My iPhone was problematic under iOS 5...laggy from screen to screen...very slow to bring up the keyboard for texting...just overall not a good experience. My son's 4 worked much better, though he had fewer apps, songs, pictures, etc...my 32g had about 2g free...where his 16 had about 8 free and he cleared every app he started, regularly while I leave them all there.

That said, iOS 6 has totally turned my phone around. Even battery life, which absolutely sucked the first two or three days with iOS 6 is now back to normal...maybe even slightly improved. I have no complaints (other than my initial loss of street view) and that is now at least partially addressed by the web version of google maps. The map app works great in the SF Bay Area, but even here there are odd errors for business locations.

My opinion on one of the biggest problems w/ maps is the search engine used to determine what POI you entered is not nearly as good as googles...I have to be very careful when looking for a POI to verify it is the right one.

I'm tempted to upgrade my wife's 3GS now since 6 works so well on both of our iPhone 4 phones...

I keep losing my wifi signal, i have 3 devices connected and next to each other

a PC
Samsung GS3
iPhone

and the iPhone is the only one not connecting, never had any issued before iOS6 :(

Aside from the Maps issue, I don't see how updating a third-gen iPad to iOS 6 would be anything but a positive experience.

Basically, the only things that change as far as a third-gen iPad is concerned are the new Maps app, the loss of Apple's old native YouTube app (but you can download Google's YouTube iPhone app from the App Store), and the addition of Siri.

One of the things I used to love doing on my iPhone with the old YouTube app was firing up a song and then using the multitasking tray to play the song in the background while surfing or whatnot. Can't do that anymore and you can't resize YouTube videos to fit the screen like the old app either.

Overall I would say, no, don't upgrade to iOS 6.

What new options?

Decline call with text/message, mostly. :) And I like the lighter dial pad, too - but that's just a personal opinion.

I have to concur! After a few days of using it, I definitely prefer iOS 6 - it works great on my 4! As for the 3GS... my wife has one, too - I am NOWHERE NEAR brave enough to try it! lol Let me know if you do though - feel free to be the guinea pig!

Has anyone used headphones while talking on the phone? On my iPhone 4 in iOS 5 I heard the other end of the phone call and it was crystal clear. After my fresh install of iOS 6, now I hear what is going through my mic + what is going on on the other end. It sounds like I'm going through a tunnel. I've tried it with multiple headsets and still get the same result. Yet, this doesn't happen when I'm talking on the phone without using headphones. Anybody else have this issue?

I upgraded my 4 to iOS6 but am not really noticing any improvements other than the fact that I no longer have to enter my apple password to update my apps.

Other than that it took away the old maps app in exchange for the new apple maps WITHOUT turn by tun voice which is the only redeeming feature of the new maps app.

I lost the old YouTube app which is ok because I can download the new replace app.

I got Passbook which is pretty much useless until more retailers sign on.

So basically I find no particularly great reason to upgrade an iPhone 4 to OS6. We still don't get Siri. We lose the better Google powered maps in exchange for a crippled version of Apple maps. What is the upside?
This is exactly what I noticed upgrading my iPad 2 to iOS6. Doesn't seem to be any advantage at all. (It seems I lost my JB for nothing)

I guess you don't email from your iPad and attach pictures or use Facebook that much...or tens or a hundred other things that make using the iPad 2 so much better with iOS 6.

I like my iPhone 4 more since the upgrade to iOS 6. just feels much better. I even removed the jailbreak and i'm enjoying.

it may be faster on ios 6,like when I open phone app,the contacts appear imediatly BUT it is a little bit laggy like when I go from camera app to home screen or the amazing spider man game laggs a lot,to make a long story short, ios 6 is faster but the animations are a little bit laggy,by the way sorry for my bad english.
