I know all about apples severed ties w/ Google, and yes, I have the new YouTube app which is great as a standalone. But I've noticed that when I'm on forums or websites in Safari where there are embedded YouTube videos, I can't view them anymore. Previous to iOS 6 it would then start up apples YouTube app to play the video. When I click play now I get a message telling me to install flash.

Anyone else have this problem? Is there a remedy? It would be a real bummer to no longer be able to view embedded YouTube vids in safari anymore...

That's weird. Embedded videos are working the same for me on IOS 6 on a 3GS. It just doesn't open the new youtube app. They still play in a new sort of window just like IOS 5 did.

Hmmmm that's not good to hear. Maybe I'll try restoring my phone (4s) and see what happens. Thanks for the reply

Yeah, this stinks. I just tried one I myself posted on a forum and when I click on it it says I need an adobe flash player or quicktime.

This really stinks. Had I known know I would have held off upgrading to 6.0 as I often deal with embedded videos.

Everything regarding viewing YouTube seams to work for me as well. I wish you luck with that!

This I think is what people mean. It's like this for every you tube link.

Yes exactly. Is this just bc YouTube was taken off with the new iOS? Wasn't like this before

I think Safari is asking the you tube site for the flash version instead of the HTML 5 version.

Tried it from my iPad 3 and iPhone 4S. Both worked fine.

I normally use mobile youtube so I don't have that issue

Try switching youtube over to the mobile version, I think the option is on the bottom of the page

Mobile YouTube works fine but the standard page doesn't and certain websites with embedded videos still won't play. Kind of disappointed

Am getting the same issue. It doesn't seem to affect the youtube video added in this thread so maybe its specific to certain websites and how they embed the video on their sites.

Apparently some videos work (the above video), and some don't. I'm sorry to link to an outside source, but this one on the website does not work for me in iOS 6 on the iPad 3. Test.

Here's what I see

Yup I'm not able to play the video for that test link. So looks like some embedded videos play and some dont.
