So 20 minutes after release the thread was posted complaining about battery going down 10% in an hour.

Hmm, let me guess, your Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab perform much better???:cool::cool::cool:

Sounds like we have a Samsung marketing rep in the house! Welcome!

Uhh no. I downloaded iOS 703 at 1pm pst. Fully charged. Posted thread around 3pm pst. So it wasn't 20 min after launch. I'm a real customer with a real problem. Get over yourself

Seriously, this feels like 7.1 as everything is working perfectly, I can't imagine why's your battery bad... Perhaps it's time to get a new phone?

right now ive done a complete restore, erased all content/settings...give it a full charge overnight and see if this does any good.

Looks like the news services have picked this up...

AP CUPERTINO
A user on a popular Apple discussion forum, macrumors.com, has reported that his battery life was made "worse" by an incremental update to Apple's iPhone software, iOS 7.0.3, which was released to the public several minutes before the report was issued.

The report, combining extensive speculative research and unscientific testing, has determined that the phone loses 13% of its charge per hour.

Apple could not be reached for comment on the situation, which effects approximately 100% of the one man study. Light chuckling could be heard in the background at Apple's Cupertino, CA headquarters before the phone was hung up.

I'm going to test it today, but I left my phone 6 hrs unused overnight and battery is still at 100%.

this is complete horse crap. i cant believe they would even "report" this as if its affecting thousands. kinda jumping the gun on this one. battery life is usually cruddy after an install. i mean....."a user". one single person reported this, as if its a complete representative of the whole.

Whoosh!

You may want to read that "news report" again.

My phone died at 6% today after the reboot. Better than dying at 30% I guess. But during ios6 my phone would die at 1%

Went to bed around 2AM, my 5s was on 100%. When I looked at 7:30AM, it was still 100%!

Mine was 'frozen' on 100% too for an hour or so and I felt it wasn't right. did a hard reset….it went from 100% to95% which felt more reasonable.

On a more serious note, nobody can answer your question without way more information.

What are your settings? If you have something that's constantly using GPS, have AirDrop enabled, etc., then it's understandable why battery consumption will be severe.

why do so many people accuse others on here of lying? and why does so many people always have to reply with some smart assed comment? WHY? Does it make you feel better? is your personal life that boring? GET OVER YOURSELVES

Better for me so far. A lot better.

Maybe you need to reset the battery calibration. Let it drain to 0%, then charge it all the way to 100% and unplug it the moment it's full.

Still have excessive battery drain with 7.0.3 ... 4 hrs and half
Not happy at all

Not sure if this is good or not but here's a screen after I did a full wipe last night.

Question is if I can run it down to 1% before complete shutdown

i have absolutely everything turned off..
no BT
no GPS
no LTE
no background running apps
no siri
no airdrop
no spotlight
no auto app updates
no ads tracking
no location services
yes wifi

anything else i forgot to turn off? i made sure all these were off after i started the new os because my problems begain with ios7 at the beginning. wanted to make sure these factors werent affecting it...its not like i was streaming youtube and getting turn by turn navigation guidance while complaining about battery drain. pretty common sense here imo

My battery issues were pretty much all fixed in 7.0.2 with a Reset All Settings.

Now 7.0.3 has me right back to the terrible battery life. I guess I'll do the Reset Settings again... kind of a pain to keep setting everything all over again.

Hope it works. My phone dies very quickly, even with everything turned off and no apps in the task switcher. Usually dies at around 7%, too.

I don't know why I press update when I should know better by now than to be so haste. :(
