When it's all done....this will result in a win/win for Apple...they fix the exploit and their adoption rates to iOS7 hit 100%.
I enjoyed iOS6 and had no reason to upgrade until this exploit....I feel a bit sad, angry and pushed into a corner with no options.
And what percentage of all Windows PCs are currently on the latest version of the OS with all applicable security updates?
Still a big number of people refusing to upgrade from iOS6 to iOS7
I'm holding out as long as I can, I find iOS 7 repulsive, the color palette of something that looks like the one Easter egg that gets dipped in all the colors. It gives me a headache. And then you open an app and it's a white wash. I have used iOS 7 quite a bit since my dad got an iPhone in Nov. (still showing him how to use it) and it hasn't grown on me at all.
What horribly configured version of Windows are you using (or misusing)? Haven't ran into this kind of thing since pre-XP days.Dear Lord don't get me started! Windows keeps on pushing updates like a bad never-ending TV soap opera... you are using your machine it slows down, you look at the corner and windows is updating... great... ok, you are about to shut down it tells you it needs to apply updates... ok great...
You restart (after it applied the first set of updates for the day), and then again your machine slows down and windows is updating... you are like wait a minute didn't you do that in the morning... shut down, restart, repeat.
After two or three restarts, you are set... for the day...
Why can't microsoft bundle updates?
I am still on iOS 6.1 with iPhone 4, I see no point of upgrading to iOS 7.
Because a secure SSL connection is pointless?![]()
There is a Cydia-patch for that, of course.
The fact that you are jailbroken changes the equation a bit.![]()
Why can't microsoft bundle updates?
Does iOS automatically update, or is this feature just for apps?
And I'm just like...![]()
I am one of those who happily used iOS 6.x on their iPad 3. But given the severity of this - very stupid, thank you, Apple! - security bug I finally decided to upgrade to iOS 7.
Wow! Does this new UI stink to heaven! And it is slooooooow! Even clicking on a "Settings category" (y'know, to turn off all those annoying swooshy animations) sometimes took half a second to actually show the corresponding setting "screen" (part, dialog, form, ... whatever you'd call it) on the right side.
And whoever decided that "colour gradients from bright orange to purple" would actually look cool - think again! (Or employ someone who is actually not colour blind!).
I ****ing hate those new icons!
Oh, I'm fullly aware, but they have to eventually notice the badge icon alerting them that an update is avaiable...? IDK people are just so illiterate when it comes to technology.
Huh? I love iOS 7.Sorry to hear that you're on iOS 7, too - yeah, it really sucks big time, as I just discovered (after weeks of resistance) myself recently.

My buddy refuses to upgrade from iOS5, but yeah. Some people are just stubborn.Oh, I'm fullly aware, but they have to eventually notice the badge icon alerting them that an update is avaiable...? IDK people are just so illiterate when it comes to technology.

...Is it the best way to do it? probably not, but I'm sure Microsoft have their reasons (rapid deployment of fixes, etc...)

It isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, but it can be annoying sometimes. I think one reason for doing it this way is that you can easily uninstall each individual update if it causes any kind of problems
How is 14% a big number? iOS 7 adoption is over 80%! that's incredible
Whats the source of your information?
LMAO
You're kidding right?
HINT: Look at article![]()
So yea, it happens all the time, windows applies patches sequentially, sometimes though this sequential update requires restarts, and the user ends up having to restart two or three times before their system no longer shows that icon.
The good news is, it's minimally disruptive, rarely does windows FORCE you to restart your machine, it quitely sits in the corner until you shut down.

The pie chart Looks pretty fragmented to me.
