Sad day just meant that no longer is the jb signed.
I think you mean, iOS 7.6 being signed.

In any case you can no longer restore to a version of iOS 7 that is jailbreakable. 7.1 is now it. Just like us iOS 6.x users.

How long does it roughly take before a tethered jailbreak comes out for iphone 4? Not strictly speaking about an eta for 7.1 tethered just for how long it took for past firmwares.

Just for reference, to go from 7.0.4 JB, to 7.1 that just came out, we download the IPSW file, Hold shift and open itunes, and select the ipsw file, and install?

It's open iTunes, hold shift and click the restore button, select ipsw file, and install

Or plug in your phone to your computer, open iTunes, and click the restore button

Can users in iOS 7.1beta remain jailbroken?

Yes, as long as you stay on that version

What do you guys suggest?

Got a jailbroken brand new 5S on 7.0.6 no issues except the sleep wake button is a little weak.

also got a brand new 5S but its on 7.0.3, lock button good.

gotta send one back, any help is appreciated.

If you get another exchange, it'll most likely be on a version lower than 7.1

If you do decide to keep the 7.0.3 one and intend to jailbreak it, make sure to instal SSLPatch

If you keep the 7.0.3 and don't plan to jailbreak, update it to 7.1

If you plan on selling your 5s id suggest that you stay jailbroken. They become rare and can sell it for up to 150 more. That's in my personal experiences

Yeah I have 2 in my possession now (advanced replacements from Apple)

One is on 7.0.6 weak sleep/button
One is on 7.0.3 but no issues

I gotta send one back and I intend to jailbreak.

I went ahead and upgraded. I got sick and tired of random reboots of my phone. I'm keeping my iPad on 7.0.6 for now strictly because of f.lux.

What tweaks did you have installed? Any themes? Winterboard?

Not had a single reboot since I jailbroke back in December on either my ip5 or ipad air.

I would say send back the 7.0.6 one

In the long run, you'll eventually update and that SSL but will be hard fixed, but that won't be the case for a hardware problem

Just make sure to install SSLPatch

So ssl patch fixes it the same way 7.0.6 does ?

Thanks for helping btw

Also besides the ssl what's the main difference between 7.0.3 and 6?

Yes, for apps not running as root and when not in safe mode

Basically only works when not in safe mode and when not in an app running as root (e.g. Cydia, iFile, etc)

Supposedly, that's the only change but some people have said 7.0.6 gives better battery and slightly better safari experience but that's subjective

There's enough JB tools on my iPhone to keep me from upgrading to 7.1 on it just yet, but I'm debating if I should on my iPad (since all I have on there really are minor things like iCleaner, Lock Screen Tool, and Bigify)

So why would iOS 7.1beta users care to downgrade to iOS 7.0.6?

Because b1-3 was missing the ssl fixes (the ssl patch by ryan is just a band-aid. Its a good last resort but obviously not the real thing), had no hdmi output and while some have had a good experience, the betas are still just that..beta OS's, so they are likely to have random OS bugs in them.

Furthermore, tweak devs will not support 7.1, and there is always the possibility of getting locked out, albeit a lot less likely now that 7.1 is actually out..but there was still the 'risk'.

I feel tempted on updating to 7.1 on my iPad Air because of overall stability and the tab refreshes. Decisions, decisions...

No way I would do that on my iPhone since Jailbreak is absolutely mandatory for me on my iPhone

Same. I'm updating my iPad. I don't really use anything on there from the j/b "scene". My 5s though, I rely on it being j/b lol.
