I can't believe you think it looks "100 times better." A very thin bar to show progress, with little contrast, is better than the one that was thicker and much easier to discern? Really? I don't like it on Android and now I don't like it on iOS.

Michael

I will always prefer a thin and minimal over bike and contrasted.

Then you should be predominantly an Android user. I can't stand the thin and poorly contrasted progress meters--and that includes the thin blue line at the top of page in browsers.

I don't get why so many people are bitching about the ****ing icons like a 13 year old girl on her period. It should be about the overall UI not how an apps icon looks.

AND, putting icons aside,

Honestly tell me that ios 7 doesn't look 100 times better than ios 1-6.

I don't know about 100 times but I generally agree with you. the UISwitch and Slider still look good on iOS 6 though, IMO.

Starting to dislike the Safari back-swipe gesture.

"Hey. Let me highlight and edit this post here...FCK!" Back I go.

Just noticed that when scrolling in safari you can tap at the bottom of the screen to pull up the controls. No need to swipe back down quickly to get them to show.

I think, only when there's no link present where you place your finger. Anyway, you can tap the top of the browser screen to make the bottom controls appear - which in turn requires you to tap twice to go to top of page.

Kind of ironic, strange observation in my Safari.... When I press the address bar I get this:

View attachment 418567 (Jeez! Wasn't able - or capable - of uploading a screendump from my iPad)

--- anyway it was supposed to show two pretty shortcut icons of Windows Marketplace and Customize Links, which both takes you to Ms sites.

I didn't visit or place those there and they are not in my bookmarks either(?)

On another note: Didn't see anyone mention that in photos, you can now only get the pins that shows where the photos were taken, when you are in Collections or Year by pressing the headline above the pictures. I can't find a way to get a view of all my locations in one map as used to be the case in IOS 6. Also, you can't (at least in beta 1) tap into the pins and see the photos from that specific location.

Nicknames in mail but not messages

Mail seems to be showing emails in my inbox with people's nicknames as the default. This is definitely new (unless I've missed an option somewhere) as I have discovered a few nicknames I didn't know existed for contacts I get emails from pretty regularly!

I find it strange that nicknames are default in mail but not messages...

Apple should drop the magnifier icon in the search box, redo the design for the uipicker view as well as the uiswitch. The uipicker need more detail, borders and the uiswitch should have a grey background and not green.

I've only seen that animation through jailbreaking. Perhaps it's a remnant of a jailbreak?

But in iOS 7 that animation is built in. You can a we when you turn off the phone. but it's not outta the possibility cause I used 2 have that animation activated thru springtomize 2, but I didn't just update my iPhone when I installed iOS 7, I restored it 2 factory settings

Idk how I manage 2 enable the old TV animation when I lock my phone ... I do t wanna turn it off now cause I don't want it to go away
It doesn't work that way when simply locking/unlocking the phone (it technically doesn't even work that way when powering off the phone--it's similar, but still not quite the same). Just how it is.

There's something to be said for minimal, and then there's something when it's like barebones minimal. I mean having random text act like buttons without really much indication that that text is tappable let alone is a button does not make a good minimal design. You might as well go to simple Terminal/DOS for minimal then--it's just a black background with white (or green) letters that you type, nothing more.

Quick reply?

If you look at iMessage notifications in particular, there is alway a blank space on the far right. Now, the notifications has also expanded in height compared to iOS 6. I think it's pretty safe to say that quick reply WILL be coming in the final release.

They just need it to be one of the 10 new features they're gonna show on stage in September ;)

Yes it does, and the weather app is great.

I will admit that the weather app is better, but if you want GREAT, download the Yahoo! Weather App from the App Store. It's WAY better.

The Yahoo! Weather App was released sometime ago as well. It seems that Apple took somethings from it, or, since the stock weather app is powered by Yahoo!, they said that it had to look a certain way. Who knows?

Really? Interesting. The calendar information doesn't take you to the calendar, and neither does the stock information if you have it there. Would traffic information then similarly take you to the Maps app perhaps?

Yes, but ironically crashes the app on the way in to Maps :D

If you hide a Calendar in the Calendar.app, do its events disappear from Notification Center? They don't in iOS 6.
