Minor thing but still...

I noticed that when the phone gets hot it doesn't shut down completely like it used to. Now it prevents you from using the flash and limits the screen brightness. Maybe they also do other stuff like limit the cpu or the wireless radios (speculation). Of course it still shuts completely down when it's too hot.

(Notice the little sign next to the flash icon at the top)

Out of curiosity, how do you manage to get the phone that hot? I've never encountered that and I've been doing some heavy tasks on a 4, 5 and the third generation of touch.

Just wondering, does anyone else's phone have the spinning wheel after the apple logo on boot up and before the lock screen?

My phone gets really hot too... And I'm a moderate user... It gets especially crazy hot when its on charging a long time or the wifi hotspot is on...

I heard that third-party apps in iOS 7 can now send any kind of files through iMessage...

I read that as well, only problem is that I didn't attempt to send anything other than maybe a picture. Not really sure what is was.

I also had two instances today where my phone turned off and said no battery, but after showing the dead battery screen, it turned on as if nothing was wrong and showed 30%.

What does the OP mean by "Video Support for iCloud"?
There is no video in Photostream... and Movies and TV shows have been available for a while in iTunes in the Cloud... so what is new in terms of video? Do you mean some sort of documents in the cloud video thing?

It means you can add videos into your Photostreams now.

During the keynote they talked about the new shared photo streams. Friends can now add to the photo stream, and videos can be added as well.

It's happened again today... This is some of the BEST battery life I have EVER had on any iOS. I am using an iPhone 5. I do know I still have 25% left, but it's getting late and will update you later with my total usage stats.

I consider myself a heavy user... constantly checking feeds, emailing, streaming music, and pushing email. Flipping back and forth via wifi.

Have had the beta since day 1, battery life was a bit sketchy off the start but seems as if I've gotten the OS worked out. The only things I have OFF, are Bluetooth and some unnecessary location settings; specifically system services i.e. Compass Calibration, Location based iAd, and setting time zone.

Can't complain...

Not bad for the 1st beta.

In the Music app's new landscape view, you can pinch to zoom in and out, adjusting the number of rows of album art.

It crashes for everyone now. It's probably been cut over to the new servers which only work for beta 2. Maybe that means we'll see an update today.

That's interesting. So in a way beta 1 is "live" as in, things get fiddled around/tweaked constantly. What's a little buggy on Tuesday maybe acts differnt Friday etc?

Siri is server based which is why it's like this. A feature like Control Center, if buggy, will always be buggy until fixed by Apple in a new update because it's not a server based feature. So, to answer your question, no, beta 1 is not "live". Other examples of server based features would be iMessage, iCloud, etc.

Thanks a mil, never knew that.

App Updates

Not only are my apps not updating I cannot use the ones showing that they need updates.

I have tried manually updating individually and updating all. Nothing works.

What am I missing?

and another question since this is my first ios beta. Can you update to beta 2 automatically or do you have to go through everything the same as with beta 1
