I actually like this. Double clicking home button for them to appear was annoying and not very useful

I agree that it was annoying, I liked the execution of the idea on iOS 6, where the music control will appear until you lock the screen again. But I think right now, it's a bug because there is actually no way to see time on the lock screen unless you pause your music or unlock your phone.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if it comes up in another app. In iOS 6 it always looked the same in all apps, and even in iOS 7 until beta 2. I think it's a new feature to give users an easier way to contact devs rather than leave a bad review. Makes sense to me.

There's absolutely no way Apple's style guidelines condone the use of a pop-up to garner ratings, which leads me to doubt that it is being provided by the OS.

The visual similarity across apps may be due to the fact that there are a few third party frameworks for this functionality that are commonly used.

Control Center is now slightly taller, with more room between volume slider and AirDrop/AirPlay buttons. Compared to image on Apple's website.

Having to swipe to unlock in order to see the time is way more annoying to me. It's possible to show the time and music controls at the same time but as of now, there's no way to see the time on the lock screen while music is playing. You can pull up control center on the lock screen to pull up music controls that way too.

Have you not been on iOS for a while? Most third party apps have had that pop-up for a while now. I don't think Apple would give devs access to put whatever they wanted on that pop-up.
Can anybody who has any apps in the AppStore shed some light on this?

I have. And yes, I am aware of how common it is. That said, it's just a pop-up. It doesn't need to be served up by the OS and I doubt that Apple would facilitate such an annoying and obtrusive UI element by providing the framework for it. It's spammy, and frankly I'm surprised it isn't banned or screened out during the app review by now.

A quick Google search tells me this is usually implemented through some third party frameworks, which likely leads to the visual similarity between them.

I will happily eat my hat if I'm incorrect.

NEW! ADD THIS TO THE LIST!
In photos, you can pinch to open and close specific photos and videos. When fully zoomed out, the pinch to close will work. The photo can be rotated during the pinch, but has no effect other than being a visual enhancement.

END OF ATTENTION GRABBING.

They made it so when you click on settings during a phonecall (like speaker phone) they made the highlight text white now instead of the previous gray highlight that you could barely see
