to me everything is running real smooth but the problem i just started running into is that of my phone is starting to run real hot again, i never had it run hot with iOS 6, it ran warm but not hot and its running hot…still and i have the GM release and did a clean install of it, set the phone up as brand new, I'm running an iPhone 5

I had this happen today on my drive home using Waze...noticed the heat when I got a call. Then I noticed the battery percentage had dropped significantly. Turned off Waze and do a hard restart and issue stopped.

I think third party apps simply need to be updated for most of the issues I have experienced.

i think that may be it honestly, iOS 6 did the same thing when it first came, in my experiences until the apps i used were optimized for the system and the heat went away and the battery life improved, i mean i did get great battery life though, phone is on 1% with 7.5 hours of usage, unplugged it at i think 830 this morning

I wish someone would do some tests on how it works with NO third party apps installed. Most apps haven't been ios7 optimized and with the new multitasking and multithreading, there's bound to be issues - especially with older devices. I don't have any issues with 3rd party apps and ios7 GM on iphone 5... but I think this might be some of the reasons for everyones issues..thoughts?

iPad is a very important device for me, I'm working on it in my school. On iOS 6 everything was so smooth and fast. Now even in GM iOS 7 is slow and buggy. It is unacceptable for me. I have chosen Apple because one year ago it was the best tablet you can get, now it's slow buggy and even keyboard now is very slow. I'm very disappointed.

What're your thoughts?

I completely agree with you 100%

what iPad? older models iPad like the iPad 2 iOS7 release will come a few weeks or so later based on what I understood from the conference

Nothing I can pin point exactly, but to me, it just doesn't feel like a flawless finished product that I would expect from Apple. I love iOS 7, but my first thought after seeing the GM was "is this it?" Anyone else feel this way, or is this a me problem?

This exactly describe what I am feeling now. Vey disappointed. I just hope the Maps app disaster will not occur again with iOS 7.

They said iOS 7 is out for all supported devices on September 18.

maybe, I know he said something specific about the older models at the end though. I did livestream it so audio quality was not perfect.

Tell me about it.
I spent $800 on a cellular iPad 3 last year; and with iOS 7, it just turned into a device that runs worse than samsung's garbage tablets.

Thanks apple, I know who not to buy a tablet from next time!

As far as iPhone 5 goes, iOS 7 is running pretty smooth. I haven't noticed any problems thus far. I probably will as time goes by. But for now, I am happy.

That is the general consensus: iOS 7 runs great on iPhones, crap on iPads.

Yep, it's absolutely not ready in the iPad. Even the 4. I'll do a video later today to show how crap it runs with clean install.

I have the same problem. GM is still buggy i dont think its the final release that apple will use. Even the thing where you pinch to go to the home screen is jumpy and weird.

The GM in iPad (my iPad it's iPad 3) it's a disaster.
Slow, lag, etc...
Apple work in 7.01 or 7.1 for release the same day 18 (i think if Apple is a serious company)

There are still problems in the GM, like the task switching bug where it just shows the app icon and not the screenshot while closing apps.

It's nothing serious though for iPhone 5, 4S and iPad 3 - I suspect the older iPads may be the ones with problems.

BTW the GM has been released for all supported products so this is what will be released publicly next week. Any remaining bugs will still be there but I'm sure an update will be released soon.

Also the comments re clean installs and 3rd party apps are pretty irrelevant, do you think Apple is going to tell everyone not to upgrade and rather do a clean install without running any 3rd party apps

No chance of this happening.

Of course they wouldn't say to not install 3rd party apps - but with the new memory handling in iOS 7 its up to the devs to make it compatible and I suspect many of these problems will go away

It is still acting like a beta. I have seen no bug fixes from Beta 6 to GM and it pisses me off that they are actually shipping it out.

I showcase all bugs I can recreate and most have been present since at least Beta 4.
Maybe a 7.0.1 can be released instead because this is not a final product.

ALSO: Where's the receding video player?

Well this pinpointed exactly the problem. U can not deny it.
Visual bugs and stuttering issues still persist, and crashes still happen.
It makes iOS 7 like the garbage Samsung Android devices already :(

?
iOS7 GM works excellently on my iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Gen as compared to previous betas.

The graphics have been smoothed.
You should do the hard reset. :)

It runs smooth on my phone, but there are still some issues, and if they release this version, they are making a mistake. It is a new version of iOS, it should be rock solid before being released to the public, so hopefully what we get next week, will be better.

When trying to add a new event on the calendar, it doesn't take. Settings crash. And sometimes there is a jerky lag on animations. Twice now, after I set a wallpaper, it crashed as well. It isn't as bad as the betas, but I don't think it should be released until all of this is fixed.

NO bug fixes?? Sure. Whatever.
