Even if you have the password lock on when you connect the iphone to any mac and open Image Capture app you can see and transfer all the videos&photos... (i bet you can also do it on pc too)

i thought this was gonna be fixed with ios 7 but it hasnt.

basically because of this i never give my phone to charge on a laptop at hotels and restaurants!!!

the funniest part: without entering the passcode if you take photos you can only see the ones you recently took... (i guess they wanted us to protect our photos here. thanks apple)

That's odd. My iPhone 5 on iOS7 will not do anything but charge on my work laptop until I click "trust" this computer. Then it is visible to the computer.

Ha...what a joke...and the Betas accomplished what?

I guess the looney that figured this out either:
1) Wasn't a developer,
2) Didn't bother to illegally DL a beta, or
3) found it out during beta testing but waited until iOS 7 was officially out to reveal his/her discovery and make a big deal of it.

The first thing I turned off when I installed iOS 7.

The control center is a bit too much power for someone to have over my phone if they don't know my passcode.

I agree, but I discovered a side effect... No more AirPlay control from the lock screen if music is playing. Apple pulled the AirPlay button from the playback controls on the lock screen as well as in the Music app. I have already submitted feedback to bring the AirPlay button back. If you disable Control Center while in an app there is no way I could find to activate AirPlay while in the Music app playing music. This is definitely a usability flaw.

Frankly, anyone that cares enough to go through all those ridiculous steps to access my photos has my blessing to go ahead and check out all the pictures of my junk*.

*open to interpretation

wow, I feel so vulnerable now. you still have to get the phone from my pocket and have knowledge of this security flaw.... I'll sleep well tonight that my phone is safe.

Pick one that the Applelogists will go for:

- Why are people keeping their Photos in the multitasking bar?
- I've never had that problem!!! This guy is just looking to create trouble for Apple.
- Go get an Android if you don't like the way the lock screen behaves.

In reality though, I'm sure this'll be fixed in 7.0.1 or 7.0.2.

You don't actually have to have Photos in the multitasking bar, it gets there when you open the Photos app from the camera on the lock screen.

I have tried this on two different versions of the 5 (vzw and att). Neither of them exhibit this behavior. This was tested with the simple 4-digit password and a complex (6+ digit/character) password.

What build of iOS7 was this performed on? IIRC there was a bug like this in an earlier beta that might have been fixed in GM/Release? Maybe I'm running a slightly different build (as I was running betas and GM before).

Out of several attempts on my 4s, I only managed to get it to show contacts once, but my photos were visible inside the camera app almost every time.

At any rate, serious problem that needs to get fixed ASAP.

the sky is falling! the sky is falling! im sure the average iphone thief knows that rubix cube procedure so he can get you where it hurts! a post on facebook!

This didn't work for me either. Just took me back to the lock screen when I double-tapped on the home button.

doesn't work on mine either. ip5/iOS7.0GM

doing the cancel shutdown and double tap takes me to lock screen every time, no matter how quickly after pressing cancel i do it. holding bit longer on second press takes me to siri, and then lock screen when i cancel out or double tap.

i see several people saying this bug happens on their phones. wonder if there's another condition that needs to be present..hm.

D'OH - EDIT - yes, did it when i used two fingers (thumbs), one to press cancel, the other to double tap home almost simul. bug caught.

If anyone can remember that sequence my iPhone and all its contents is theirs. They've earned it.

Passcode lock setting

With passcode lock setting to "immediately", I am unable to duplicate this behavior whatsoever. The video demo does not seem to indicate the device's passcode lock setting period, so I do not buy this story until further proof.

Confirmed this bug works on 2 iPhone 5's that I've tried.

that did it! :)

seriously though, i did make it work - trick is to double-click before the clock app closes after touching cancel.

Yep that did it. Tried numerous times at first with no luck but I now can reproduce it at will.
