Just updated, iOS7 iPad 3 64gb wifi.
So far, it's not as snappy as I'd like, but it's still quick enough for me to wonder if it's just my perception.
I'm curious what other users are experiencing.

Have installed today iOS7 on iPad 4 16GB, I'm very disappointed. Definitely not as snappy as iOS6 (rotation, some apps, minimize an app, etc). Some games have lags too now. It's like it's still a Beta version. Is it a strategy to make us buy the next iPad 5 ? :(
I've had iPad 1, 2, 3, 4 , was very happy with the Apple tablets until today !
Why launching a Beta OS ??

Initially it was slow but after restarting the iPad it ran much better. Transitions are still a bit choppy.

I've been looking for a YouTube video of iOS 7 final that shows performance on the ipad 3. Most videos only have the mini or 4th gen. Anyone feeling ambitious and can make a video?

Works fine on iPad 3 for me. One issue is that it takes a second or two to change to numbers on the keyboard.

Works great on my ipad 3, so far not noticed any lag, the keyboard which is key for me seems quicker than ios6! So far very impressed and relieved after some of the horror stories I had heared.

Updated my 3 to iOS 7 a few hours ago and its running pretty well. Having just slight lag from time to time when changing wallpaper or doing certain things, nothing bad. I wish us iPad 3 users had been able to have the blur/translucency effect though. I wanted to see that.

I installed the iOS 7GM on my iPad Mini last week and have been doing great with it. Spec wise, I think my mini is on par with the iPad 2. The parallax effect does lag sometimes, and framerate in some of the heavier games isn't the best. But it's an iPad mini. I have no regrets updating and I'm really hoping next month brings us a retina iPad Mini with TouchID. :D

Apple is still signing iOS 6 as of this moment, so why not try iOS 7 out and if you don't like the performance on your device you can quickly nip back onto 6?

i definitely notice the performance hit on my ipad3. the biggest draw to ios was how smooth it ran, now it's choppy with it's animations and i'm getting consistent freezes when navigating through the settings menu. it doesn't seem to like you using camera roll wallpapers.

i think i'd still upgrade to ios7 anyway, but it's definitely a letdown performance wise on this device.

Yep. Wallpapers seems to have some serious bugs, it locks up solid and then if it's feeling good will change wallpapers, if not, try again.

Now that I've had a chance to play with it, I'll add my thoughts.
Running apps I haven't noticed any change in performance, but spotlight and folder animations are flat out bad. I'm talking jerking, stuttering bad. It reminds me of when I had a Motorola Xoom and it did everything that an iPad could do, but nothing was smooth. My wife has a Mini for work and we upgraded it to iOS 7. That thing is like butter, but still has the wallpapers bug.
Another thing that surprised me is that the keyboard isn't the same from app to app. I always assumed it was an OS thing, not independent for each app. Some apps still use the old style keyboard.
Overall, its kind of a let down. I didn't gain much functionality, and the iPad feels old now.
