News Flash: For those of you wondering how it can be "late" when it hasn't been announced, companies do have internal timelines for completion on projects. Moving something back even a week or more can cause chaos in scheduling and create a domino effect for a number of other projects in the pipeline.

Does anyone know how big the teams are already? If they get too big, it becomes problematic. In emergencies, they pull from the OS X team, but they don't always have to do this...

their immediate deadline is WWDC. they need to be able to impress and have something adequate to pass on to devs

Amen and exactly. Not sure why people can't wrap their heads around the idea that something unannounced can still be "delayed" or "on time".

I'm sure he's a nice guy but he kinda comes across as a pompous douche.

Hiring additional personnel who have zero understanding of the entire ramp up to what is a very complex OS is a waste of investment in the short-run.

It's counter productive. Extending new hires to work on smaller projects from SQA to Professional Services, to Applications always happens first before you roll them into working on something like AppKit, Foundation Kit, CoreFoundation, I/O Kit, WindowServer, CoreData, Quartz/Quartz Extreme, OpenCL, OpenGL, etc.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Guys I can't believe no one's noticed this. "Slash" -> "/" -> a line -> basic element of design -> iOS 7 will have a bare-bones simplified design. STEP UP YOUR GAME MR THIS IS HUUUUGE.

First there is a thread saying that it might be delayed. Now, here is a thread saying that it will be on time. I think I am going to go crazy. Maybe I should take some sleeping pills (a lot, actually) and just wake up on June 10th.

I'd rather have any iOS or OS X update working and late than made to meet a set time table and then a patch released weeks later to fix problems it should never have had.

How many of his "yep" and "nope" comments have been accurate in the last year? I am guessing that if this guy has a 100% track record, then Apple is feeding him this information. If Apple is not giving him information, then they are not doing a great job of figuring out his circle of friends in an attempt to stop the leaks.

I wish someone would ask him if the new Mac Pro will be introduced at WWDC! ;)

I absolutely LOVE the idea of a new operating system. I want to seed it already.

very sad that Apple, the largest tech company in the world is struggling to release two OSs. Clearly they are messing up in a big way if these are getting rushed out the door.

All this talk about a potential delay leads me to believe that there will indeed be some major changes to iOS 7. Can't wait!
