I'm gonna say iOS 7 because I never liked the look of iOS 6, even though iOS 7 is the bastard child of Android and Windows Phone. And because it obviously has more features.

I like iOS7, it offers more features, has an updated look and does everything I want it too. iOS6 wasn't bad but I find iOS7 has more to offer (as it should)

iOS6 is much better chiefly because I managed almost twice as much usage time from each battery cycle.

Safari on iOS7 is much nicer though...

iOS 5.

It had the classic look that made iOS so popular, and it had all the important features like iCloud and Notification Centre. And it's better than iOS 6 because it still had Google Maps and the old YouTube app. It also had a better looking music app as well. In my opinion iOS 5 was the most complete and refined version of iOS ever released.
iOS 6 felt rushed, and iOS 7 is just crap.

I totally agree. iOS5 was fast, stable and had all the necessary features. Since then we've gained unnecessary additional features, bloat, lost speed, increased bugs, lost battery life and ended up with a boring flat, bright aesthetic.

iOS7. iOS6 was boring and ugly. Safari was ugly and outdated with separate address and search bars, and terrible tab design. Icons were inconsistent and the default half circle glare added to most icons was very outdated. Multitasking was a chore too.

I get the same battery life, so no problems there.

never knew ios 6- was dull til i updated to ios 7. seriously, ios 7 is a major eye candy.

iOS 7. Its better , more beautiful and smoother. The new icons has grown on me over time. At first I hated them.

iOS 7 is the best, by far ....
iOS 6 was just fine, but it was an aging o.s.

The only, unfortunately vey big issue with iOS 7 is battery life.
Something's wrong with the way iOS 7 is managing battery and network.
I'm looking forward for a quick fix from Apple.

I prefer iOS6 because iOS7 just lacks too many that I used every day, features that were the reason why I bought my iPod in the first place.

I don't care about the visual differences. For me, the new look is just a matter of getting used to.

iOS 7 is the best OS so far. iOS 6 and earlier are for those who always like to be a few steps behind. You know, like android. :D

The majority shows: the amount of complaining and whining on this forum is from the vocal minority.

You are aware it is possible for people to like something but still have some criticisms for it. It is also possible for updates, three to be precise, to fix issues that people had with iOS 7.

iOS 7, for 2 reasons:

1) It patched the WiFi bug in iOS 6 on iPhone 5. My iPhone on iOS 6 felt like it was on EDGE or even dial up when I was using it on home WiFi. Now the bandwidth is what it should be.

2) Control Center. It's a feature that should have been in iOS years ago. The convenience is something I wouldn't want to lose.

iOS 6 still has things going for it though.

I think the iOS 6 interface had more unique character. The fonts and controls were also easier to read.

I can't really say. I like some parts of iOS 7 like the lock screen, notification center, and control center, but I like the overall look of iOS 6 better. I like iOS 7 for the functionality and iOS 6 for the looks.

iOS 7 hands down... A good step forward in the correct direction for the future... iOS 6 was brilliant too... But, all good things must come to an end, for better things to come...

That is always the case...

iOS 6. iOS 7 offers a few nice features (that I don't need) but it looks hideous.

Yes, this is pretty much how I feel. I generally like the new features but I do not care for any aspect of the new design aesthetic; e.g. transparency: no. thin fonts: no. lots of white: no. pastel colors: no. I'd rather have marker felt back in Notes than the current app.

I would not argue that the old reel-to-reel tape recorder in the Podcasts app was over the top, but it was fun and made me smile. That is what iOS and OS X usually did - made me smile. I am not smiling at iOS 7 very much.

A.

I love all the changes and new features of iOS 7, all the little improvements. But I just cannot get comfortable with the new look. There are so many things about it which I think are poorly designed and barely thought through. iOS 6 needed a bit of a refresh, but I never expected to see such a radical design change. iOS is, or was, beautiful.

Not to beat a dead horse again, but I would really like to know whether Steve Jobs would have liked it. I have never opposed an update before, but I still refuse to go back to iOS 7 (I updated to Mavericks right away).

I love the look and feel of iOS7. I hated some of the design aspects in iOS 6 and prior. I hated the blue safari style on iPhone, loved the gray on iPad. Overall I am very happy with ios7 (especially safari) but there are many bugs to worked out. I expect ios 8 will bring performance and battery life enhancements to really refine the new ios.
