As a design guy, I really appreciate the design cues in iOS 7. I mean, don't get me wrong, I can completely understand that some people are fond of the new look, but the design industry as a whole has been slowly moving in this direction for a while now. Simplicity and minimalism is key.

That added to the new feature set (minus some glaring omissions), and iOS 7 really is a big step in the right direction.

iOS 5.

It had the classic look that made iOS so popular, and it had all the important features like iCloud and Notification Centre. And it's better than iOS 6 because it still had Google Maps and the old YouTube app. It also had a better looking music app as well. In my opinion iOS 5 was the most complete and refined version of iOS ever released.
iOS 6 felt rushed, and iOS 7 is just crap.

iOS 5 == OS X Snow Leopard. At least for me.

I prefer apple maps, works faster and more up to date. The realtime tom-tom traffic routing is also better. Google maps took forever to update if you scroll or zoom out.

In functionality, there's no difference that I can see between 5, 6 or 7. The iphone/ipad still does what it should.

Since I installed Mavericks, I am beginning to use Apple Maps on iOS 7 more and more.... and I am loving it....

Weird how people are different. The more I use the music app, the more I hate iOS7.

People ARE different, nothing weird about it.

I think it depends on what you most use your iphone for, which is the key question. I do not use music so much, and mostly if I want to listen to it, I simply put the shuffle on and am happy as a larry.

I have an iPod touch. There isn't much you can do on it beside listening to music (unless you have constant wifi). I think iOS7 contradicts the very reason for the device's existence - like an iPhone that sucks at making phone calls.

True that sir.....

I like the crispness of the fonts in iOS 7, the new Safari app, and the top row of buttons in control centre.

I don't like the awful touch response gaps when navigating. I don't like that almost everything is blinding white, yet randomly, a few apps are dark. Why would compass need to be dark, while alarms is pure white? Many people wake up in the dark. No thought goes into this stuff.

The music app is terrible. I feel even worse for iPod owners. Like I need to see a bunch of dime-sized artsy band photos that I can barely distinguish, let alone recognize. But you want to see all songs by an artist, listed in predictable alphabetical order? Nope.

Apple had the potential to make this release a truly amazing thing. Instead, they've ruined aspects that many people liked, created a bunch of bugs that never got addressed in the betas, and burned a lot of customers by saying either you assimilate, or leave.

Every year, it's always "well next time we'll get..."

Just my opinion;
In order to fully appreciate IOS7 its necessary to spend some time with it. The extra bells and whistles as well as the new features make it worth while on the iphone5 or 5S. And no its not perfect but its better than IOS6

I tried ios7 on a friend's iPhone and it felt right. But on my ipad, it just doesn't feel right. Too much empty space, often requiring you to scan around the screen for icons. Some of the text is so thin and small I sometimes miss on the first tap. Task switching now requires one to swipe numerous times. Can't Apple just make the screenshots smaller? Makes no sense. Overall I feel ios7 is a step back in usability for the ipad.

I have iOS 7 on my iPad 2 and it is working fantastically well... I was a bit skeptical after reading a lot of iOS 7 bashing on MR and about it not working well with iPad's.

But I never ever once had a problem with iOS 7 on my iPad 2, it has worked like a dream....

I agree. I played for a couple of hours with an iPad mini (basically same hardware of your iPad 2) and iOS 7 worked flawlessly ....

I am so surprised on the vote. 75% prefer iOS7? This has to be due to "I got used to it" ..

Thats not what I meant Mr.

Everyone complained so much about iOS7 - Apple didnt change anything (well beside the possibility to turn the animations off) - et voila!

I am myself on iOS6 still debating if it is "worth" to update

I am genuinely curious, what does it suck about it when making calls? Personally can't remember last time I had a call drop and the voice quality is pretty good!

Lol, you should read more clearly before you post :D

I said that the music app of iOS7 is so bad that it turns an iPod touch from a great mp3 player into a bad mp3 player. It cripples the core functionality of the device, as if an update would cripple the phone functionality of an iPhone.

Not that it matters (since now I know what you meant) but that's not exactly what you said on your initial comment. Does =/= would.
