Spinning data wheels in Safari, landscape/portrait lock-ups, screen freezing, random unresponsive touchscreen, worse battery life than the previous update, app crashes (worst ever in any version of iOS for me)...all of these things make for a bad update in my book. Perhaps the 6+ is affected more than other iPhones?

I can relate to the spinning data wheel in Safari, but that has been a thing with my iPad since early version of ios7 other than that my iPad4 has 10-11 hours usage per charge and a few minor now and then blips in the road. In my case 8.1.2 has worked well.

Worst ios yet, photos keep syncing, it doesn't stop, battery drain is terrible, iphone 5

the most annoying bug is the stock keyboard not working always.. when editing text on some webpages for eample, and you move the cursor to edit a word, the keyboard becomes unresponsive.. only way to get it work again is to hide and pop it back. and of course another annoying bug is issues with 3rd party keyboards...

I just hope that the data wheel spinning non stop on some websites is fixed. It doesnt do it on chrome app so its a safari issue.

Well, we've lived with this crappy beta version of iOS since last September 17th..what's another few days or weeks gonna hurt?

So next week? All recent updates for ios and OS X have been on Mondays

Nah, There have been plenty on Tues, wed, thurs as well. Supposedly 8.1.3 was released to employees on a Wed then the next version on Thursday.

I think Apple is scared to release it in case something is not 100% like 32 nanoseconds slower opening an app. Or battery only lasting 10 hr 57 minutes instead of 11 hrs as previous iOS :)

Hopefully I'll be able to notice the better battery life within 2 minutes of the release like I have every other iOS release!

This means absolutely nothing. Apple can, and will release an update on any day and at any time.

It's a pattern, that's like saying WWDC being held in June the past few years means absolutely nothing and that it's equally likely for Apple to do WWDC in any month of the year at any time.

Or worse battery. Most folks have worst battery on every update so ones who have had their devices for a long time through many updates are down to like 3 minutes before having to charge it again.

Um well here is the "pattern" for JUST iOS 8. iOS 5, 6, and 7 and all their .x. updates will be similar:

8.0 - Wed
8.0.1 -Wed
8.0.2 -Thur
8.1- Mon
8.1.1- Mon
8.1.2 Tues

But WWDC will take place at the same time. You can't presume there won't be an update this week as Apple have always scattered their iOS and OS X releases.

Amen to that

You said it meant nothing, I was just using an extreme example. Ex it's unlikely for Apple to release updates on weekends, so Tuesday - Friday are more probable. There is still a trend even here.
