No, I don't think so. You'll get a performance boost (my 5c works just fine with 8.1.1 regarding performance), but you're losing 8GB of storage.
If you can swing it, go for the 5s. There's some deals coming that should make it free. I don't know of any off-hand, but with a trade-in I'm sure it can happen.

Yes I had to wait for few days so that I was done 'playing' with my new phone and back to normal usage

In comparison I had the iPhone 6 before this and it would die down in 24-26 hours with 4-5 hour of usage

This is my wife's iPhone 6 on 8.2 beta ... And hers usually died within 24 hours before but now look at the usage ... Incredible !

Try using Safari more. That's what kills my battery life on a 6+.

Based on what i'm hearing on this thread, I am getting more excited about 8.2 than I was for 8.0.
