What does Apple music have to do with the fact that I OWN all the music that is in my computer so I should be able to share it with anyone in my HOME? It's not like I can share outside of my network. Stupid.

Or even just share it with MYSELF, i.e. streaming to my iOS devices that don't have enough space for all my local music.

If this was intentionally taken out, then a big thanks, Apple. No more access to my music on my iOS devices. Real nice. And no I won't subscribe to your music service in a million years.

Just because you're not aware of it doesn't mean a lot of us with 16GB iPhones shouldn't care. We now can't stream our own 100+GB Music library in our own homes. Apple is forcing us to buy larger cap iPhone/iPads to keep more Music available at a moments notice or pay for subscriptions (Match, AppleMusic) , whereas before I could stream my entire library for free from my office into my bedroom or downstairs workshop. Thanks Apple! and goodbye.

Wait. I thought this was removing the ability to share music that was stored on an iPhone. So did they remove the ability to access your shared library from your phone?

So if I am listening my music Offline in my car and someone else is in my car with me that is considered stealing? So RIAA is going to hunt me down now for the many years of listening to the radio with friends and family. Artist are mad hungry and yet they make such garbage and people for some reason still buy them.

Apart from Swifty, don't blame the artists, it's the labels that are mad hungry.
After HealthKit comes Authentikit, where the RIAA remotely monitors your library and dings you for each non-DRM media content. No wonder the iPod Classic costs $700 on eBay now. No one can snoop and I can store my 100+GB music library ripped mostly from my CDs.

I thought Apple had removed DRM from their songs? Or did they add that back in?
DRM in the sense that your AppleID is included in the file and it's very difficult to remove. You can still copy the songs to other devices, but if you were to share them online they could be traced back to you.

What's worse for me is, iTunes Match (and no doubt Apple Music streaming) degrades many CD versions of albums, unless you like it heavily compressed and with increase volume. "Mastered for iTunes" is not necessarily sonically better than orig. release Mastered for CD or Vinyl, it's just louder!

I suspect you never tried Beats Music. It looks very much like that. If they re-wrote it, that's really bad news, since they botched it if they did.

That's ridiculous. I have used Beats music and it's clearly not the same app. Sure, they borrowed a couple of screens, but the app, overall, is different. Moreover, it proves my point - even if they simply used the Beats app as the basis, the Beats app did not support home sharing either. They'll get to it.

Slow down everybody...

Home sharing is still in iTunes just as it was. Home sharing was removed only from iOS, which frankly I wasn't even aware was an option.

I loved it for our 16GB iPads, well any device that wanted to listen music without syncing everything we owned or get caught in the clutter. they could to the music they wanted without syncing all the time at home, one controlled and centered local library we could all enjoy...videos and tv shows work for now...

Yes, giving your money to another company for a previously free feature will surely teach Apple a lesson.
Plex Media Server is free, though you can pay for enhanced features -- streaming your iTunes library on your home network is part of the free tier.

I usually just use the Remote app to play music off my Mac. It seems to work better than AirPlaying streamed iTunes Match music from my phone to my stereo.

Get an Android device -- sounds like it'd be less frustrating for you.

iTunes Match content is completely removed from my iPhone 6 but is still there for iTunes of my Macs. It's either gone or I am confused as heck.

What's the alternative? Google, which end-of-lifes products left and right all the time?

Why not? At least the software works right the first time so you enjoy actually using it. Without public betas. Google seems to understand how services in the cloud should work.

Unbelievable. The example I've been using while showing off my new Apple Watch is that I was able to walk into my home after receiving it at work, and play a song using the watch from my library without any further effort. I'm pretty much fed up with Apple's ******** moves.
Apple Watch is accessing music from the iPhone it's paired with, that isn't changing -- you'll still be able to show off your watch ;-)

It's not gone, it's called iCloud Music Library -- you can turn on IML without an Apple Music Subscription.

Plex is free.
Plex Media Server on your PC/Mac is free, or $5 per month if you want a Plex Pass with enhanced features. The free tier does stream your iTunes music library to devices connected to the same WiFi network as long as they are logged into your Plex account. Without a Plex Pass, you can only have 1 user account set up, though it can be logged in on multiple devices. With a paid tier, you can add different users with varying levels of access to your media library.

The Plex client app for iOS is $5. You can't share from your iOS device with the Plex app, just access your stuff from the server. You can have Plex Media Server installed on more than one PC/Mac on your WiFi network, and access it all with the client app.

I'm sure half the people throwing a fit and saying they're done with Apple will be back here complaining about something new in iOS 9.2, 9.3, or 10.

New outrage, same ending to the story.

Thank you benjitek. I turned that on in the settings on my iPhone. All good. It was working fine yesterday but somehow it must have been turned off.
