we should start a thread posting apps that have been updated to iOS 8
You just did...
Won't happen until the public release of iOS 8, so it's a bit premature.
Incorrect. Developers can update their apps any time between now and the release next Wednesday (in addition to any time after that, of course).
tons of my apps already got updated over the last 2 days for ios 8, clearly even stating it in the patch notes
can you please list them for others to check out..
Box for iphone
is the only app i see that says anything about iOS 8
CTV News GO
but does anyone know about any app that utilises widget or quick reply or actionable notificaton or any new keyboard app to try right now?
Those are updates to make the app compatible with iOS8 - they however do not use the new APIs. Those can be submitted to Apple as of about 5 hours ago. I don't think any have hit the store yet that use the new APIs but they should be tomorrow or the next couple days.
the op said apps that were updated for ios 8, not specifically using new apis
Actually the OP says "updated to" not "updated for."
So far none have been updated with APIs I'm subscribed to appshoppers ios 8 feed so I can see each of the app updates
Apps updated for ios 8
Now that developers can submit their updated apps, will Apple wait until the public has access to ios 8 before approving the apps? I don't remember from prior years when the updated apps starting rolling out.
Usually a day or two before the public release.
Judging from threads posted this time last year, apps updated for iOS 7 started appearing around a week before the official release date.
iHeart Radio gives you lock screen options
Screenshot of what dallison just posted. Pretty exciting to see these apps beginning to hit the App Store.
i hope Facebook and twitter get updates on iOS 8 launch day to use the quickly reply feature. but i got a Facebook update today to 14.1 so that seems unlikely
Make me a list
How can app access the lockscreen?
I dont think they have allowed lockscreen access to apps in extensions
But maybe i dont know that much
There's an iOS 8 update feed? Can you please kindly send me the link? Thank you in advance
You go to AppShopper and search iOS 8 but checkmark Search Apps' "What's New" field only.
Also put in quotes "ios8"
