Yeah that's true. I don't understand why people want the betas so badly.

I always install the betas because I buy my iPhone on launch day every year, and am bored with it by the time summer comes around. Installing the betas and seeing the new features keeps me occupied until the new iPhones are released in the fall. :D

I don't mean to sound rude but that's what happens every year. People who are NOT developers download the iOS beta then complain about it and don't understand what the HELL a beta is.

Crap that happens during beta still happen on final releases so what's the difference?

[MOD NOTE]
Lets get back on topic, this thread veered off the bunny trail so lets back to the iOS Beta question.

iOS 8 beta will most likely require a registered UDID so no, downloading it from the Internet won't work unless you want to pay $100 to get a developer account to have the privilege of complaining about it 4-5 months earlier than everyone else.

Same pattern every year. Never understood why someone would install beta software and then be surprised when issues occur.

It certainly tarnished iOS 7 with all the complaining about...practically no one went with iOS 7 because of it, and now Apple is really suffering because of it.

I'm not sure you can say practically no one went with iOS 7 when clearly they're approaching 90% adoption of the OS.

hummm... with all the complains, whining, trashing with iOS 7 beta from non-developpers, somehow Apple magically get more than 60% of adoption rate round month. Oh... remember how much people trashing about Android adoption rate? It seems to me all these beta complains do not have real effects on iOS 7 adoption rate. It is more like you are whining about people getting beta without developer account.

By the way, Microsoft offers all betas of their Windows OS, Windows Phone OS to the public, do they fear beta complaining?

Why would they. MS needs the buzz so any publicity is good for them.

The rest are the users who don't understand why there is a 1 badge over the settings icon.

Is 80% adoption of a widely panned update "suffering"?

Right, I was just replying in a sarcastic way to a post that was saying how much damage complaining during the beta period can do to a new iOS version--basically to imply that despite a good increase of all the complaints related to iOS 7 during its beta period and well after, it certainly hasn't suffered or been damaged given how many people are using it (whether it's because they want to or because they need to for one reason or another).

I'm sure there are plenty who know all too well but are not doing anything about it because what they have is good for them and they don't want something different.

You should have been more clear in your post regarding this, on the internet its impossible to read body language and there were no other indications you were being sarcastic.
