I like it. I think it makes better use of the screen when in Control Center "mode" ... right now, the blurring effect of the current app is simply visual candy, and the wow factor wore off long ago.

I agree the minimized app screens need the app icon superimposed somehow, because as others have stated, some app screens are blanked when you go into multitask mode -- without the icon there's no easy way to tell what app you're switching to.

Also, some toggles were removed in this concept and a lot of users find them really useful. We shouldn't go backwards in this area.

id be fine with an option to switch the control center and multitasking around. i need multitasking a lot more often and i hate pressing the home button

Excellent idea. Love it.

What I'd like is Command-Tab support for switching apps when using a Bluetooth keyboard. It should also be possible to access the home screen using one of the function keys (e.g. F3 or F4).

This is entirely untrue. Apple simply takes it if they see it. They don't offer these guys jobs. I've worked very closely with them for enough years to know that.

Yeah, maybe they will take it and not give credit to the author or maybe, in some particular case, they will see a great talant and contract him. Many people in the jailbreak community were contracted by Apple after they saw their capabilities, in resolving security issues for example. The current App Store design is inspired by a third party app which was acquired by Apple only for good software arquitecture.

If you want to work like industrial designer for a big car manufacture for example, the best way to call the atention of the given company is to create and share in the respective community concept designs, aka your portfolio as designer.

I cant agree with you, that is is complete waste of time, when your work could be seen by many people in the internet and possibly by someone who is looking for skilled designer. Waste of time would be if you dont sign your work, Id agree.

The guy who created this concept alrdy won, because his work was seen by thousands of people, and thats whats matter if you want to show your talant and skills.

Still not real multitasking

Apple's multitasking is still not a real multitask. Being able
To visually see all open apps is a joke.
We need a split screen or like a PIP (picture in picture) way to multitask.

Do people make these concept videos in hopes Apple introduces a similar feature so they can say Apple copied them?

Come on, you rly want to watch a movie while browsing the web? Or read email and searching for app? Multitasking you refer is STUPID. I have never seen a person using PiP on his Android phone. 99,99% of the users use only one app at a time 99% of the time. Its complete waste of resource to allow background video playback while you doing something else, because the majority of the people cant pay attention to two things at the same time.

Multitaksing, the way you may need it is alrdy in iOS, so stop asking for nosense.

FFS, even on my PC I cant type a email while watching youtube clip because at the end or my email is not correct or I havent seen the clip.

Then maybe don't read the story? Nothing wrong with having articles like this here as some do find them interesting, and nobody is forcing you to read it/watch the video.

Then maybe if you don't like my opinion then don't read/reply it.

I wished this from day one. Then we have true webOS style switching.

Having a bad day?

Not at all. Just seems a waste of time. Plenty of goofs from this site get hung up on these concepts believing that they're legit Apple examples of what's next to come. Then they fill the forums with complaints what Apple doesn't introduce the stuff they saw in some random concept. Happens all the time here.

Well, there's a reason why they are called "concepts". Also all these MR stories are pretty clear explaining that they are made by users, not by Apple.

Also I doubt they are a complete waste of time, since Apple eventually ends up taking some of these ideas in their new releases.

To achieve what end?

Seriously I ask every time never get an answers. What productive end will windowed multi-tasking achieve?

To me windowed multi-tasking is the most basic, easy or lazy multi-tasking. It really doesn't do anything to help me other than to work around the system shortcomings. There are ways to improve information fluidity between apps for productive ends but windowing isn't it.

It seems you are 99.99% mentally challenged… If your brain can't perform, don't deny others the chance to use their own brain…
What if you want to use the calculator to add something that came on an email or text message without having to go back and forth between apps? What if you want to post a Facebook comment on a video you are watching on youtube?
Come on, Samsung has been doing it for 2 years now and multitasking on Macs has been around for 20 years.
Multiple windows or even a smaller version like a PIP are completely useful and acceptable. Not everybody will take advantage of them, but they should be offered.
I speak 5 languages and usually text and email on multiple languages. I would also like to have a multi-lingual dictionary. It sucks to have to be switching international keyboards depending on who you are typing to.
A "language" preference stored with the contact, would help a lot but since most users barely speak one language, nobody cares…
I bet you can't chew and walk at the same time, right?

You don't get it. Multitasking refers to doing multiple things simultaneously. Apple's version is just a glorified App switcher. The memory can hold many Apps open at the same time but only ONE is available at a time.
Samsung has had it for 2 years and slowly they are dethroning Apple by incorporating useful things into the OS.
PC's have had real multitasking for decades. Why not have that feature on a portable device? The iPhone screen might be too small for real multitasking but on an iPad or when the bigger iPhone 6 comes out, it would be a great addition.
IF you want to see PIP on iOS7 already, use the control center, that's what PIP is. You see 2 things you can use at the same time. My idea is not so bad after all...

Audio apps can play in the background. BTSmart apps can sync in the background. Navigation apps can continue to offer directions in the background. News/social apps can refresh their content in the background.

While no, you cannot SEE multiple apps at a time, the assertion that there is no multitasking whatsoever is patently false.

I didn't say there is no multitasking. The phone's memory does that. What I care for is to be able to switch between open apps and USE them...

The phones memory? Memory is for storing data. Everything I mentioned uses actual processing cycles while in the background. They are running... at least through a built-in process... NOT just being stored.

Multitasking switcher should be at the bottom. People are more inclined to use it, so that makes it easier to swipe at without hitting a settings button.

The apps don't have icons underneath. Some apps are quite difficult to quickly distinguish without their icon, and some apps have their screenshot get blanked out for some reason. Maybe somehow dimming the screenshot with the icon overlaid? Not sure.

I'm guessing the idea is that you flip up to access the multitasking, so they want to keep that option up top where your thumb ends up. Might be too far up, but that's a different quibble.

Totally agree about the need for icons.

All I really want out of iOS is real multitasking. I don't like how certain apps, like Skype or Facetime for instance, pause the video stream if I switch to another app. I also have another app that constantly disconnects because of the way iOS currently handles multitasking.

Simplified Assistive Touch in iOS 8

Apple seems to always add an Accessibility improvement in Settings with every major upgrade. VoiceOver, then Custom Gestures, then Guided Access, and now Switch Control with iOS 7. I want to see just one subtle update in iOS 8 in this field. Assistive Touch Specialization/Customization. I have learned over the past two days that having a broken lock button sucks and its not that fun using Assistive Touch. But what if you can set Assistive touch to do nothing but the bare bones that you want. When you press the home button to wake your phone, you can instantly lock it by pressing the Assistive Touch button because you set it to only function as a Lock button and nothing else! Screenshots? Why go into subcategories in A.S. when you can just press the Home and A.S. button at once! The same goes for broken volume buttons; all A.S. would display is a subtle + and - thats always there for you. Even the Home button. It's practically self explanatory by now! We all need this!
