Yes I was warned but IOS 8 is seriously eating up my battery on my iPhone 5s. I did an OTA update, not a clean install. I'm not too worried because I'll be getting the iPhone 6 on Friday and I will be wiping this phone. In just a course of 30 minutes I went from 100% down to 86%. My phone pretty much lasted all day with normal usage and I would still get home with 45%.

Anyone else seeing this or suggestions.

Try killing all of your tasks and doing a hard reboot by holding down home and power until Apple logo comes up

I called it in another thread with the "que the battery killing my phone after using it for 45 minutes clowns" post.

No difference on my iPad...but then again it is an iPad. 61% batt after 4 hours and 50 mins of usage (standby is the same time.)

iPhone 5 w/ 16 GB... Battery usage seems fine,

10 hours 23 minutes on "Standby" with the phone checking e-mail over cellular and wifi almost equal time.

And, 2 hours of usage browsing internet, answering e-mails, texting, taking pictures, talking on the phone, looking up recipes while cooking, etc.

And, has 85% battery left. Just did the update this morning through iTunes and went right about normal day with it. No problems, no complaints.

seems unbelievably great. I'm on standby for 4h and usage 2h and only have 78% left. It seems to me that battery life was better before. But maybe it's only an illusion.

Had this problem.. It seemed to drop to 32% in a couple of hours this morning and then a further 20% as I was deleting that bleeding U2 album.

Trying a reset of all network settings, closing all apps and a hard reset. Will get back to you.

You've been punished by Apple for deleting U2 album, by 20% battery performance drop ! Ha!

Have had problems w/ 5GHZ band. Been dropping connection etc. Just reached like 10mb/s. Reset network settings and Now i reach 55mb/s with 5GHZ.

Sems to work with reste network settings, hopefully the battery will be better now :)

Yes, that does seem low by comparison... did you check to make sure bluetooth is turned off? First thing I do after updates. I rarely ever use bluetooth, so only turn it on when it's needed.

Just a thought... perhaps you already turned it off though.

I had battery drain with my 5S.

last night I just let it drain until it shut off and recharged to 100%.

working fine now - no more battery drain

that sucks...I forgot to mention I also restores to iOS 8 and setup as new. That may have made a difference too

Ah, possibly. I updated it through iTunes. I've only got to suffer it for another 1/2 a day until the new phone, so not overly fussed.

Kinda ****** though if that's the answer to fixing the battery problems. Wipe your phone and start again. Massive PITA.

Mine drained super fast yesterday but that was because all my photos were updating via iCloud Photo Library. Today, so far, it's much better.

Another person checking in here with poor battery results. Usually get a full day out of my 5 but now I'm getting more like half days. Not at all happy. New iphone 6 should be here tomorrow and if does this as well I'm gonna be pissed!

My 5S is draining 30% overnight versus 1%. I've switched off notifications and Background App Refresh and it didn't help. Before I had everything switched on and only lost 1%.

I've noticed my 5s also drop in performance. And I'm closing all my apps more frequently thinking that is the issue.
