So here's the thing. 1) The app isn't quite ready for beta. One more bug and an incredibly frustrating limitation of the system music player itself that I need to work around. 2) Until Apple opens TestFlight up to external users (hopefully very soon!), I have to register each testers device under my license and we both have to manage everything manually. Which means you'd need to get and send me your device's UDID and manually send me crash reports. On top of that I'm limited to 100 devices. Once TestFlight goes live it will be easier for everyone and I can open the beta to 1000 users.
That said, I'm not opposed to it. There's no telling when TestFlight will be opened externally, so when it's ready I'll probably be adding users via UDID anyway. If you are interested in potentially being a beta tester send me a PM and we can go from there.
Stay tuned, I'll probably post when I'm ready for testers...
As I stated in another thread here, it looks like this will be a really nice app. As many people here, I was quite upset with the changes in iOS 7 and more disappointed by the fact they've done nothing in the latest version of iOS.
To me, the music app worked perfectly in iOS 6 and before. In fact, it was a perfect evolution from the iPod, which many of us had used for years and years. To change it so drastically in iOS7/8 to the endless list was an abomination.
This app looks great, but there's already one available that does pretty much everything it's going to do. It's called Picky and it's in the app store. It's great. It's just like the old Music app and allows you to even choose how you sort the albums (by title, chronological, reverse chronological, etc.)
Give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. I've been using it since last autumn and have been a very happy camper. Also, the developer is a very nice guy and quite responsive. I've mailed him several requests, some of which he added to the app including "Up Next" and sorting by album artist, etc.
By the way, I derive no benefit from promoting this and if your app provides another great option to having a way to view our music as we used to, I'll happily download it as well.
