Push notify work like a charm for me. For the launch bug.. I've got that sometimes. To solve, start en immediately tap Chats. It will switch to chats and won't hang :)

Mine was like that for push notifications for 3 weeks, now this. As for hanging at start, that doesn't always work. Maybe 1 out of 10 times now. But then I get runs of it being fine.

Fix WhatsApp Crash iOS 8 Beta

This is the easiest method. Just Changing the accessibility to "Bold Text" will fix the crash

Goes to
Settings>General>Accessibility>Bold Text

#iOS8Beta #WhatsApp

Doesn't work. Still crashes most of my group messages.

There is more than ff, fl & fi stuff thats bothering whatsapp for sure :).

I am able to open messages that has ff, fl or fi by using workaround suggested in earlier post of auto-correcting fl,ff & fi messages. But I still can't open most of my group messages.

so this wont work without me creating the provisioning profile / xcode thing?

i ask because i am under someone elses dev account met through howardforums so i doubt theyd give me their login to do the xcode thing

Correct. You have to create you're own provisioning profile to sign it with or you need someone else to add you to there dev team, create the cert and sign it for you.

For all you "supposed Devs" here are the instructions :-

1. Using XCode, login into your Developer Account and create a provisioning profile (this will generate certificates as well) ...
2. Download the iOS Distribution certificate and the profile from dev portal
3. Double click the certificate to install it into Keychain

Download the beta ipa : https://www.dropbox.com/s/f6tooyh15td82uc/WhatsApp-beta.ipa

Steps to resign :-
1. unzip WhatsApp-beta.ipa
2. rm -r "Payload/Application.app/_CodeSignature" "Payload/Application.app/CodeResources" 2> /dev/null | true
3. cp "YOURFILE.mobileprovision" "Payload/Application.app/embedded.mobileprovision"
4. codesign -f -s "iPhone Distribution: Certificate Name" --resource-rules "Payload/Application.app/ResourceRules.plist" "Payload/WhatsApp.app"
5. zip -qr "WhatsApp-resigned.ipa" Payload

In #3 above, replace YOURFILE.mobileprovision with the yours which you downloaded
In #4 above, replace the Certificate Name with yours as shown in Keychain

Connect your iPhone to computer. Open Organizer in XCode from 'Window' menu. Select the phone and click "Use for development" .. this will copy over the provisioning profile to the phone.

Under same phone selection, select Applications and click + at bottom. Select the resigned ipa file and let it copy over.

Note that you should have production Whatsapp already installed and working so that the beta upgrades it. Otherwise you will not get working notifications.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
i already do that 5 step, but i add the ipa to iPhone via itunes,
it cant run , is that any idea?

Most likely your phone is missing the provisioning profile or you signed using the Dev certificate instead

I meant need to sign using distribution cert

oh, i already sign with distribution cert
but not working.

missing the provisioning profile,
how i can check it?

sorry for a noob question

=============

update: i think i already found what step wrong
i use dev mobileprovision , after generate the distribute mobileprovision, it works like a charm

iResign works like a charm.. no manual entries required.

You still need a Dev Account and XCode.

...
But you can resign it a lot easier if you use iResign. You don't need to do all these steps manually.

Note to Self: read thread before posting

Help Guys

i downloaded the ipa, and i tried to do it manually, and with iresign. Both ways, it failed. I'm using the Xcode6-beta4 on a Yosemite beta 4. Iresign keep showing "product identifiers don't match or a sealed resource is missing or invalid"

What the ... How can it be installing another copy unless other aspects like name etc were also changed ?!?

It might be because iresign only works when i use the option to "change ID".

That's strange... I leave the Change ID unchecked and there's no entry in the com.companyname.appname field next to it..

Did you try re-installing iReSign ?

Well I know it was fine with 7, wasn't bothered about that. As per thread title, we're only discussing iOS 8, as there were issues in beta 1-3. Are you using beta 4? As that's what I'm agreed.

Oh.. probably misunderstood your post..

I'm running version 2.11.9.2504 I think that's the latest build for iOS 8 in Beta, and it's working beautifully. You still, however, need to be able to resign for it to run smoothly on 8.

I'm running 2.11.9.2492. Will try getting 2504. I know about resigning, just not easy getting the file from the link on here. You getting notifications fine? As mine been hit and miss.

Was mostly after people using the non beta whatsapp in iOS 8, as prefer to drop the beta whatsapp if poss.
