I love this beta for the most part, however the battery life seems pretty horrible... Also it has affected the battery life on my Apple Watch dramatically, and I haven't even installed the Apple Watch Beta.

I don't think anyone including Apple seriously cares anymore. They have disabled UDID detection, made it possible to install betas without even using iTunes.

People who are not registered developers are installing betas... So what, who cares?
Honestly, this is a good thing. I can't name any other company that does this. Even Google only releases maybe 1 or two developer previews each year. I've already had 10+ different beta's in the past 6 months, and I'm not even a registered developer.

How's the scrolling in the multitasking window? Still awful fast animations? It's like skipping cards on iOS 9.2.1 because it scrolls so fast even with the slightest touch.
Still the same, but it's not a bug. It's just designed that way. It's a bit awkward indeed.

But, this can not be! What about all the forum threads regarding how Apple was deliberately and maliciously crippling the iPhone 6 with iOS 9 to drive sales of the iPhone 6s. Planned obsolescence!
I think this is an unfair statement. The fact that Apple fixed some performance issues in iOS 9.3 only proves that iOS 9 was indeed "broken". It's been more than 6 months since the first iOS 9 beta, so we've been stuck with lackluster performance for more than 6 months (about 25% of the average two-year lifespan of an iPhone and more than 50% of the iOS 9 lifespan). I'm not going to praise Apple for fixing something they broke in the first place. I'm happy they fixed it, but they simply shouldn't have broken it in the first place.

By the time iOS 9.3 comes out we'll probably be approaching the end of February or even March, that's almost 6 months since the official release of iOS 9.0. Inexcusable in my opinion.

Been that way for a few years now, so hardly new or surprising.

Not really, until iOS 8 you had to be a registered developer and register your phone. With the public beta's and now the beta profile, you really only have to install a profile on your phone and then you're good to go. It's become much easier to install beta's, and they also have become more accessible.

Good points
6S Plus
• 3D Touch animations are 60fps now
• Control center is not 60fps all the time. I can still see few frame drops. So it is exactly like 9.2

Bad points
5S
• Exact same stuttering in Control Center. No change on that model.

These are the only things I saw first.

Is it possible to install this beta if we are not developers ?
Not at the moment I'm afraid. At least, I would not take the risk. In the past it was possible (from my experience), but it looks like Apple is really tightening it up. You're gonna have to wait for the Public Beta I guess. If Apple follows previous timelines, it should become available today.

Yes it is Possible. It installed fine on my 5S and 6S Plus.
Install like a normal IPSW from DFU restore. No need for hacks or workarounds like we had to in the past.

No UDID registration required.

But download links are illegal on Macrumors. Dont ask for them. You google it.

6S Plus users try this for fun

Go to homescreen and hold the phone in landscape mode. Swipe down to bring spotlight search with black landscape keyboard. Now flip the phone upside down and see the show. It cracks me up everytime. Keyboard loses the race all the time.

Search 'iOS 9.3 configuration' on twitter and you'll find a link to the config profile so you can OTA. I did it and running it on iPhone 6S Plus and Apple Watch. Now downloading to iPad Pro.....not a registered developer

Okay, I am a bit sad.

iPad Air's multitasking menu is dropping frames when you scroll through homescreen card, not a major issue, but still. It only occurs when there are active apps in the background, if you close recent two or so apps, everything is smooth again. I have no idea why this is happening.

This for me still shows that iOS should be on an slightly longer refresh cycle. As per usual it will take several months for the performance to be up to par, meaning certain users are unhappy with performance in the meantime. I wish Apple would take the time to get the new build of iOS up to the quality of a .3 release before releasing it, rather than making us all beta testers for 3 or 4 months.

Well, this video clearly shows no performance improvements whatsoever compared to 9.2 on the iPhone 5s.

In fact, in some cases 9.3 beta 1 is slower. Yes, it's just a beta so that may change.

Yet another disappointment, but I was kind of expecting it.

Liking how the peek to peek multitasking view then just pushing harder pops it into fully showing multitasking.

New to have appointments show up in search of you swipe right from home page?

for the iphone 6s is the control center stutter free and 60fps animation?

The OP notes that the 6 is stutter free but what about the "s" model?

Scrolling seems to be much smoother, but I can't work out whether it actually is or if it's just a placebo. Anyone else experiencing much smoother scrolling?

Both 6 and 6s are stutter free (for most part) they still stutter and do not yet match smoothness of iPhone 5c. 5s has same stutter as 9.2

I wish all bugs were this amusing. I could watch that keyboard drift down all day long.

Wow, i have ipad air 1, multitasking in 60 fps now! But i play boom beach, and when i look to my base, i have ~20 fps, why? Its only on ios 9, anyone can check, if anyone play.

Any Finns (or Finnish speaking people) here that have anything to report on Siri? Working, not working?

Not exactly expecting an avalanche of replies, but I just thought I'd ask anyway.

In general I like what I'm reading about this update, looking forward to public release. Whenever that may be.
