I don't know if this has been pointed out before but this is huge for me.
Custom keyboards now all get the customizable toolbar with the undo/copy paste/ bold options
And because of this, they ALL ANIMATE ON LAUNCH like the stock keyboard, so I guess that means custom keyboards are better at this point.
Haven't crashed on me quite yet.

Yep, when I tried Swiftkey, I noticed how it slid up smoothly rather than it just appearing all at once.

This beta seems to have the smoothest support for custom keyboards like SwiftKey of any.iOS release, Beta or full. No freezes or missing keyboards so far! And they appear quickly! I am sure I will be let down soon, but it is promising.

It's raised my hope that soon we will.actually have usable 3rd party keyboard support in IOS, which is the only thing that has frustrated me since moving ñrom Android.

Could you try something? Use your keyboard and lock/unlock. After that go back to the app. Nintype is not poping up anymore here.

Swype keyboard got nuked in PB3. I guess I'll go back to swiftkey.

But what I really wish for is the stock keyboard to have gesture typing. Swiping away at the keyboard dramatically speeds up text input for me.

Hi, someone knows why it's gone the option that let to stay awake your phone when you pass your hand in front of the phone?.
Thank you.

Anyone else notice that the animations for apps flying in and such is slightly different? Extremely slight change. It feels like they slow down.. Slower.

Sliding down for spotlight is a lot more choppy for me if you slide quickly on my iPad mini 2 and iPhone 6

Scrolling through app switcher is a lot smoother on the iPad, entering and exiting apps is still really bad.

Opening apps is a bit quicker, still not great like iOS 8. Choppiness here and there, small hesitation where icon is darkened.

Also, I've noticed that when using Siri, after it says "What can I help you with?", if you don't say anything, "Go ahead, I'm listening..." Appears on the screen.

I also noticed that low power mode disables on its own when you charge up the device, I don't recall that happening before.

I think the apostrophe and quotation mark look different on the keyboard, they're longer and curved more.

Sliding down for spotlight really fast is choppy for me, both on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini 2.

Closing apps in the safari tab view on iPad is weird, the tab just disappears, it doesn't sweep across the screen before closing.

Control Center still suffers a little bit on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini 2.

Just a few observations. :p

Weather app icon is fine for me.

"Request Desktop Site" has been relocated to the share sheet.

Thanks for the info.

The fact that theres any choppiness at this point is a joke. This update was touted as performance, stability, and "smoother animations". Delays when exiting and entering apps??? I'd love to see a comparison with an iPad 1 which might be faster than some of this garbage. These are A7 and A8 devices here. If this is the way its going to be on iPad come next month, I'm sticking with iOS8.

It definitely got better with beta 5. I'm sure beta 6 and the GM will fix the loose ends.

Try a hard reboot(power+home 15 seconds) and try again. They slide up and down now like they were always supposed to.

Yes, it was there on beta 2 or 3 if I remember correctly. I loved that feature. They removed it, sadly.

In the past, when I would close an app or service that was using location, the arrow icon would stay in the status bar for up to a minute afterward. Now it disappears almost immediately, leading me to believe the location API is more efficient.

This small hesitation is something that first started with iOS 8 and it still happens even on 8.4 just not all the time. It drove me nuts at first but I've learned to live with it. iOS 7,6 and before never did this. It was always instant launching. I've noticed how it is even worse too in the iOS 9 betas. I hope they fix this in the GM.

Anyone else still sad that they took away the trackpad feature on the iPhone?Every beta I hope they add it back, but alas it is still gone.:(

Updating to iOS 9 depends on the device, what device do you have ?? It's excellent on my iPad 4, it actually performs better on A6 devices, A7 devices came to slow down a bit with iOS 9 but A8 devices perform good but there are some bugs that are going to be fixed in the next betas. My iPad 4 performed like junk with iOS 8, iOS 9 made me feel that there is still hope with middle aged iPads

It was in beta 2 i think... When the phone is going to sleep, you have to pass your hand in front the phone to prevent the sleep, but it disappeared in the last beta.

I've never heard or seen the option either. Where in settings was it? (when it was there)

The only thing I knew was placing a finger on the Touch ID (not pressing home) will stop the screen from sleeping.

No, it wasn't a setting, just if you had your phone in your hand and the screen dimmed, you just had to pass your hand over the screen and the screen was bright again. It was a nice feature.

Never seen that happen ever. The only thing similar I've seen is touching your finger to the Touch ID glass makes the screen bright again if you caught it while it dimmed right before sleeping.

Similar to that, but just with the hand over the screen.
