Too bad they're not fixing that hideous Notification Center. Google Now cards are visually much nicer.

The more I'm hearing about these rumored features the more I'm losing hope of a bug-fix and performance-improvement release. :(

What is the difference between Notifications, Siri and Proactive? I don't want this AND notifications. Hopefully, Proactive is a replacement.

This looks like it's slightly more intelligent than all of those things and overlaps in their functionality. Google Now is actually pretty brilliant and this looks to be something similar.

too bad they're mostly useless - how many ad's for restaurants that I don't want to eat at do I need to see? the only thing it seems to do of importance is tell me the weather - i can look at my apple watch much faster that going thru their cards.

I hope/assume Apple will do a much better job of integrating push information.

I think you have it backwards. Google Now is a copy of Siri and not doing a good job of it either. Only recently has it been able to do stuff Siri was able to do when it was first announced and it still can't follow thoughts through multiple related questions as well as Siri.

Google Now is good at showing you redundant info though I'll give it that. Like telling you stuff Southwest Airlines and Amazon have already told you (but in far less detail in Google Now).

Doesn't Google realize Amazon already tells you about shipments arriving? Don't they realize all major Airlines already give you flight info? At least on iOS. Maybe the Android apps aren't that capable.

Haha, you have got no idea what Google Now is and how it works reading your comment.

Saw this article on The Verge and thought the same thing.

I am interested in seeing the stance that some of the members of this site take on Apple stealing all your secrets! Think they will give them a pass or be harsh like they are on Google?

Of course, I can probably see it now. It is done different so it is ok.

Oh no doubt, people on here will proclaim Apple invented this service and the ideology behind it, look at the comment I quoted above for one.

Ah, I love reading about all those US-only features. Can't wait to watch videos with people using them :)

So true :)

Apple is an international company but it seems like 90% of all services and features are U.S. only.

No wonder they have no market share in Europe.

Holy crap you come across as a massive fanboy.

Seriously, both have their strengths and weaknesses. I'd argue Google Now is more useful (if you're happy to allow Google to have access to your data...) whereas Siri is still decent, when it actually works. This is all IMHO based on my personal experiences with both, of course.

Even if it were a blatant copy of Google Now (which it isn't), I more than welcome it. Besides, the idea of a feature and actually implementing it are two completely different things.

"If you had invented Facebook. You would've invented Facebook."

This.

And judging by the unusal few comments, looks like nobody even cares about this feature.

haha, I read a rumour posting about the nest iPhone stating they are going to use some sort of small component in it to enable them to shrink it by a further 0.2mm, so good luck with the battery life yeah, cause if they make the phone thinner, you'll be lucky it lasts half a day!
And I am off the prefer battery life over something as thin as a human hair brigade :)

I lost confidence about Siri and Maps features, I hope Apple can change that. Since 2012, *cough*Scott*cough*Forstall*cough* there has been no progress in those areas.

So in other words they are going to copy Google Now. Sounds about right.

And make it much better. Sounds about right. :D

I'm just gonna start calling the operating system on my iPhone "AndriOS". :D:D

Bleh, no thanks. Can't call it that as long as Apple has Apple's user experience. It's still iOS, blood and bone. Siri just been upgraded, :D

My friend told me a week ago about how cool it is Siri "learned" where he works and can tell him how long it will take him to get there.

Yesterday he found out his iPhone tracks him everywhere he goes, and keeps a record of it. He's pissed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm just curious about how most people feel about this issue...I'm pretty sure my privacy was gone 5 years ago, now I'm just happy to have *something* to show for it.

I don't mind my "personal info" being used if it helps me in day to day life within reason. I once heard on an Apple podcast relating to this issue : privacy on one hand, convenience on the other. Can't have all of both, find a happy medium ."

It may be accessed either from the top of the screen home screen as Spotlight is, or from the left of the home screen.

Why do I need to point my finger somewhere to access Siri? Why can't I just tell her directly?

“Nobody wants a stylus” (January 2007)

“If you see a stylus, they blew it.” (April 2010)

Same with using a finger, to access voice recognition.

I am excited for this. The ability for it basically be my personnel assistant is intriguing to say the least!

I like what Google is doing with Google Now and I hope we get this functionality with the iPhone!
