But Timo has a cash fountain at his backyard.. plus, you can also buy your own half-baked airpods max at only $550, with lossless audio.. well sorta.

Now what about the magic mouse's charging port, that was real innovation.. and now in colors, loads of courage there. Touch bar should be named Timo Bar. T2 is Timmey's personal chip.

Use Safari, is our most "private" browser ever, it blocks trackers but shows ads, Snowden is drooling all over it, Aplpe has outdone themselves again.

5Gb free iCloud storage should be enough for all your 4k cat vids.
Always remember, "we love our customers (wallet)".

..and even then they are counting your money 🤣

You just got Timo'ed.
:apple:
Hey, the mouse charging port was an innovation...kind of cool. And yeah, good for Tim Cook that he can print money. It's his reward for taking Apple to the next level.
At winning Android users. Sorry, thought that was pretty clear.
It's like winning a cup of sand at the beach I suppose. :apple:

Hmm....My iPod was my favourite Apple product. How were you burned?
Battery life hot garbage. It went from lasting 'over 8 hours' (apple's ambiguous claim) to less than 30 minutes per full charge in less than 1 year. This made it especially infuriating because 1) at the time, I was listening to music on the go A LOT and 2) coming from a Sony Minidisc player, I was spoiled with a minimum of 20 hours per charge on and up to 66 hours if using an additional AA battery attached battery.

Plus the lack of an EQ made is lousy.

UI though, was amazing at the time. Doesn't matter anymore though.

Waiting for those “iOS is not a monopoly here” comments.

Even split shows how popular iOS it is inside US. Curious to see how it will change when privacy change from iOS demonstrates its full effect.
Can you say duopoly?

Tim is brilliant? So lets have a look …

AppleTV - outpaced by Netflix, Prime, you name it …
FaceTime - still Apple only, Zoom, Teams is the way to go for online conferences
Home Office, Apple recommends using Dropbox and Competitors. iCloud anyone?
iCloud, still offering 5(!)GB base - 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🥲🥲🥲 rofl …
iCloud, what about offering a Linux client?
iCloud, what about offering iCloud Copy & Paste for Windows or Linux
iCloud, services, Docker, XY as a service? forget about it - competing with Azure or AWS?

No, Tim is done. No new prodcuts for a decade - just butterfly keyboards are not enough.
AppleTV - outpaced by some but certainly not by all. Their original content strategy is more complex than you understand
FaceTime - Did you watch the WWDC keynote? FaceTime works with Windows and Android through browsers
Home Office - iCloud revenue is way up so someone is using it.
iCloud, still offering 5(!)GB base - 5GB is paltry but Apple now offers unlimited storage temporarily (3 weeks) for backups
iCloud, what about offering a Linux client? Most Apps customers don't know or care about Linux
iCloud, what about offering iCloud Copy & Paste for Windows or Linux - What?
iCloud, services, Docker, XY as a service? forget about it - competing with Azure or AWS? Now you're just playing fan fiction with their business model

Android still dominates over 80% of the market share. Gonna have to do better than this to make it look like it's even close. You could argue which platform is better til the cows come home. But what you can't argue, is that more people still use Android because of the freedom, and rightly so. Who wants to pay upwards of a grand for a device, only to be told what you can do with it? This is why Android will ALWAYS be the dominating Os, regardless of it's many inherent flaws. It is certainly not perfect, by any means, but at least I am allowed FULL control over my device that's running it.
The data here says US market share for Android and iPhone is equal. When you say 80%, are you talking global? Or do you mean the US data here is wrong?

Activation Number is practically unit shipment or sold. It is one data point but quite useless in the discussion of market shares.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure activation numbers are a good indicator of sell-through, which is what I think of as market share. But you're right, it's possible there are tens of millions of unsold Android units on US store shelves. Those units WERE sold by the manufacturer, but never purchased by consumers.

Apple - 350 billion dollars in revenue and the likely most successful tech consumer electronics seller in the history of the planet.
So of course Apple should take advice from someone who hates Apple. Just wow...

Critical thinking skills abound.
Yes, Android is super successful because it is open, right. That Android also occupies the highest volume section of a market, the low cost space, is just a meaningless statistic.
Apple is dominant, that's only up for debate by those who can't accept facts. As a company it has surpassed all. But I'm sure Apple weeps that it only has 20% WW share making more money than any tech company by a million miles.
Just wow...
(to the Anti Apple crowd -- happy at Android success, always will have the big share, Apple is a Monopo....oh wait).

And most of people I know with Android buy it for the price and really don't even know how to use their
phone. And they are always dealing with some spyware or google coming up with ads for things they have been
talking about. As an Iphone user I don't care if android has 90% of the market.
As long as I don't have to deal with the crap my android friends deal with.
100% correct. That is my experience with Android users, low cost os why they pick it 90% of the time. The 10% of Android users who claim they have more control to customize their phone are also completely delusion about the iPhone. Let's not even discuss privacy issues with Android vs iPhone. A co-worker told me he won't use an iPhone because you have to pay for all the apps - LOL.

Android will always have high market share as they sell thousands of low priced phones…

Not surprising really. iPhones offer much better long term support - my iPhone 6S will be supported into 2022 and even 2023 with security updates, I can't name a single Android phone that matches that level of support. This then feeds into resale value and total cost of ownership.

There's nothing appealing to me regarding Android, they might get some features first like 120Hz displays but Apple always does it better. Also their performance advantage is easily a year ahead of Android. I've yet to come across iOS malware, yet this is a sizable problem on Android.

-Security
-Updates
-Performance
-User Experience
-Privacy
-Refinement

Android wins in maybe first to market with new features and competes at the bottom end where margins are razor thin. If you just want a phone and don't care about the best there's always the SE.
don't forget iPhones are fully integrated into the ecosystem, that's a major benefit!

iCloud is a consumer-facing service for Apple end users; Azure and AWS are backend services. Apple doesn't COMPETE with the data centers, it's a CUSTOMER.

Don't mention that. There is half of the Anti Apple crowd who insist the low cost phones aren't low cost at all. Everything is just overpriced above what they buy. The other half has no concept of how a market space works and that the lower cost segment ia a simple and very enduring business plan: lost cost, high volume, quicker manufacturing, lowest cost parts feasible, purchasing consumer knows (or should know) replacement will likelier need more frequency.

That's not a smartphone market space thing, that is consumer product spectrum thing. There is nothing wrong with the low cost space. For some items that is all I can afford(though I've learned my lesson that spending more now can frequently save in the long run), for many that is also the case. The low cost high volume space allows them the chance to purchase a product they might otherwise be unable to afford.

It's really isn't rocket science...

My home phone is an Android. I will have to look into spoof call blocking - thanks for mentioning that!
Not a problem. I can't remember where it is in settings. It might also be for 11 only. But I know I read about call blocking feature. One of the reasons I am going back to android. I use my mobile as home phone as well.

Never owned an iPhone, have no intention of ever doing so. Got burned by Apple's crappy iPod and have stayed clear of their portable lineup. Their laptops however are great.
I don’t get this comment. If you never have owned an iPhone then why even comment? Especially since you no experience with one.

I have owned BlackBerry’s, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, Android and iPhones.

They all have had pluses and minuses but over all iPhone is the best IMHO.

Sell through is helpful, but market share is really the number of units in use. If Apple iPhones are typically lasting 4 years while Androids are only lasting 2 years, the market for cell phone Apps is increasingly becoming an iOS only market in the US.
