Nice nice - we have lots of opinions on here and thanks everyone.

So are you saying I should ignore this opening request from iOS when I go to set up Focus->Work?
“Allowed People for Notifications - Choose the people you want notifications from when this Focus is on.”

If I ignore that and don’t choose anyone, are you saying that there’s an option to “Silence notifications from”, in Focus-Work in the screens after that initial setup?

I ask this because I want @Mr.Blacky to post some screenshots for us all to see, in relation to the question that was actually asked.
Dude, you can see the option in the screenshot. You select "SILENCE NOTIFICATIONS FROM" and then you can just choose people to silence.

No that’s for Do Not Disturb.

I don’t want you to embarrass yourself, so I really encourage you to go back to the original post, read that carefully, then read the follow up I sent to you clarifying that I’m talking about something else.

I’m sure you’re a great person, so really encouraging you not to do ad hominem attacks. It’s not a good look.

That option is in all of the focus modes. Including “work”. Or you can just set up your own custom focus mode. I feel like you’re just trying to be annoying on purpose now

No that “Silence Notifications From” setting is for Do Not Disturb.

Can you just show us all some screenshots for that setting in “Work”?

I’d like us to see what you are talking about.

Also, I don't get what you mean with "Apple Music showing tracks as large icons, with no list view ..."?

EDIT:
And your battery rant is also nonsense, since you can see your battery usage for every hour.
Hi all - can someone independently check which setting this screenshot has come from, then report back?

I have tried many different ways and cannot find this setting on my phone (iOS 15.6.1).

It does not seem to relate to the original post about Focus->Work.

This option is there for all focus modes, but only starting iOS 16.

The answer from vinegarshots actually make sense because you posted your topic on the iOS 16 forum. So it is normal to assume that this is the version you're actually running. Except that it's not.

So iOS 16 is in beta mode😆

And on Macrumors the iOS 16 topic is not listed as “beta”!

Lol ok well I will wait until 12 September for Apple to fix its stupid mistake in its current maximum operating platform which iOS15.

Thank you @Nicolas Som for helping, really appreciate it.

I get your point, but still. If you wanted to complain about feature, maybe you should have done it in the iOS 15 forum as this is the version you're running ^^

(actually FYI iOS 16 is no longer really in a "beta" mode as if you want to install the final version who's gonna be enable for everyone on Monday, you can as this version is already available for devs and public beta testers (the same exact version. All you have to do is subscribe to the public beta program).

You're welcome anyway ;-)

Thanks @Nicolas Som - as a normal user, I’m just glad I only have to wait until Monday for Apple to fix some of these basic stupid mistakes they made.

Thanks again!

At least one thing here is spot on though - that the iOS keyboard and autocorrect are still so bad in 2022 is a disgrace.

Not trying to troll, but my experience with iOS in recent years has been getting worse, and worse, and worse.

I can list a few elements, just to name a few:
  • Spell check still nominating incorrect spelling but on words that "bleed into other words". So when you click to correct, it replaces the misspelled word AND half the following word. Pathetic. This has been a problem in multiple iOS's.
  • Siri when asked to make a note doesn't have a timing limit on dictated notes, so it can't process a longer note (instead of cutting you off), and sits there trying to process your dictated note until failure. Again, stupid.
  • Focus & "Work" etc settings require you to "opt in" on each contact in your phone book. And selecting Apps to give you notifications on the Focus feature is also "opt in". How stupid do you have to be Apple? It's usually only about 4 or 5 phone numbers related to work that you DON'T want contacting you when you're at home. And it's usually only about 4 or 5 apps you don't want giving you notifications when you're at home. Are you thick? How about "Select all" as an option, then deselect the items you DO NOT want giving you notifications at that time. Again, stupid.
  • Drop down white half opaque notifications stating Using Apple AirPods or other such crap, can't be turned off, get in the way of using the app on front of screen. Particularly annoying when trying to interact with other alerts that drop down in the same screen space. Apple are you stupid? Maybe have the two type of alerts appear in different parts of the screen space?
  • Notes start with "HEADING 1" format in super large font. How about: I'll decide if I want a header, you just start us off with the body text like a normal text writing program. Instead, opening a quick note in the supermarket, first requires changing the font to "body" first, then clicking off the settings, then starting to type. Stupid and wastes time, ruins the experience.
  • Apple Music showing tracks as large icons, with no list view – are you absolutely STUPID? Maybe try going back to user experiences from WinAmp upwards, through iTunes, to...hmm..maybe Spotify? To see that people like seeing their tracks in a LIST, not in a tiled randomised set of tracks. So so stupid.
  • Battery analysis graphs – so you can tell me what app has used my battery in the last 24 hours? Well done genius, what I want to know is what is sapping my battery in THE LAST 3 HOURS. I have to align the rings of Saturn and predict the Azimuth of Pluto to determine if it's Safari, or Uber, eating my battery.
Apple is absolute crap. They have ditched their UX processes, they are failing in basic aspects.

The fact that the iPhone has gone in 2013 from a joy for most people to use, to a WORSE more inaccurate user experience, says VOLUMES about the company's future. Focus on making quality products, not releasing new devices with the same crap iOS.
Well geez. Now I am, too, filled with rage and want to punch holes in walls with a 1TB 13pro Max.

The actual list is way longer. I have like 20 complaints and I have submitted them to Apple but they don’t care.
