No one truly has the iOS4 GM seed. Read the developer notes:

On that note, back in beta 1 there wasn't any support for it in the 3G. We submitted a bug report and Apple confirmed it. They still haven't put it in. We have one more build till we see the final version.

That's because it's not a bug. If it were a bug it would show up in the plist on the 3G and it doesn't. They never intended on including it on the 3G.

I don't think I'll upgrade my 3G to iOS 4 since I'm going to have the iPhone 4 a few days later!!!! Still trying to decide what to do with it. Maybe sell it to a service like gazelle.com and get some money back for or just keep it as a backup iPod touch.

If the 3G doesn't get multitasking and wallpapers, what exactly does it get? Unified mailbox? That's hardly a feature. It looks like we get almost nothing good out of 4.0.

Folders and unified inbox and that is about it. Big deal. Not all of us are getting iPhone 4's, so we basically get nothing of real significance out of all this. I think it is completely intentional on Apple's side to entice more 3G owners to upgrade. Well frankly I'm tired of playing their games and am about ready to say to heck with them. It is just a cell phone after all.

It's also a widescreen ipod with touch display *AND* an internet communications machine :)

Looks like I'll be keeping the 3G the way it is until the new phone arrives. It's slow enough right now, thank you very much.

What games? OS upgrades are very common today. Cell phones upgrades are more common than DSLR upgrades. What did you expect? Most contracts are 2yrs thus you can upgrade to the next model easily. No one is forcing you though. Besides, what are you gong to do, move to a Droid? There's a new phone in that market every week it seems.
