Why are developers such bitches about users trying iOS betas?

I don't, but many, if they really are devs, do act like they have sand in their vag...err, let me rephrase that....sand in their dock connectors.

Because they're sick of idiots treating them like they're finished products?

^This......if you are going to install a beta on your main device, then you will have to live with the issues, post them to the forums and hopefully apple is watching this forum to help correct the issues in the next beta. SMH....

Why are developers such bitches about users trying iOS betas?

Developers make money selling apps. The more users there are, the more apps they might sell, and the more money they might make. When users download beta OS images and complain that the OS sucks, that generates bad word of mouth for the OS, and possibly leads people to switch to a different OS - which decreases the potential pool of customers for the developers, and could negatively impact their income.

Hmm... What if Apple restricted iOS betas such that they don't allow for apps to be downloaded over the App Store, only loaded directly from xCode? That would greatly dissuade regular users from playing with fire, but would still allow developers to test their own apps.

Because it's completely idiot to ask if stability problems and the likes are normal for a beta? Because it's been explained a thousand times? Because it should be obvious even for a monkey? Because it's written everywhere, in all possible languages, not to use this freaking beta if you're not a developer that need to test its apps?

And, if you are dumb enough like me not to be a developer and try it, at least have the decency not to complain about problems if and when they arise.

Go back to the freakin ios6 and SHUT UP.
And if you are a developer and come across a lot of stability type of issues and even knowing that it's a beta you still would like to find out if others are experiencing the same things and if they might have found something that might alleviate those problems or perhaps find out that others aren't experiencing them and it might be something unique to your setup and not the beta itself? What then? Would it not make sense to post a question about that? Only to get people jumping up and down about being a developer or not rather than even coming close to discussing any actual issues. Sure not every thread is like that, but not every thread deserves a pointless "are you a developer?" Or even a terse "it's a beta" reply that's pretty much no better than the stupidity of the "Safari is snappier" crap that keeps on popping up with every update of some sort (a lot of it coming from so called "developers" themselves).

After upgrading from b1 to b2 OTA my i4S was unstable. So i did it again, on itunes, and set up as new, and it works like ****. Camera makes my phone crash and respring. In appstore, all apps i have paid for before was gone. Had to buy tapatalk again for ex...

Is this normal?

How are the apps you write working in beta 2?

matt2053 is asking the right question. :)

So you installed iOS 7 beta and are complaining it doesn't work well?

If you're a developer, create a radar for it. If not, stop complaining.

I'm happy overall with iOS 7 b2 on my 4S but the biggest issue is the camera crash bug. It's really annoying. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next beta.
Yea, that ones really bad. rolled back to iOS 6 because of it.

edit- Also, not saying anything was directed toward me.. but i'm aware these are betas and im not complaining in the slightest. some of you are sounding a bit pretentious ;)

What are you talking about? The OP, as many other beta experts like him, is literally saying that he has updated to ios7 and some of the apps he owns are crashing and not working anymore, and asking if this is normal.

Do you find this useful or intelligent in any way? Or do you find useful for the community to post a thread saying something like "Hey, i upgraded to ios7, i think the icons look childish, what do you think?"? What do you answer to someone posting a thread saying that he has thrown his iphone in the swimming pool, and he does not understand why it's not working anymore?

Unfortunately no-one has yet invented an algorithm to automatically close discussions below a certain IQ.

1) If you're a proper developer there are proper channels to report this stuff and talk about this stuff. hint: Apple Dev Centre.
2) But they're not developers. It's whining about unstable software or because their phones bricked due to not being registered (this only happens to non-devs). So no, it doesn't make sense to post those questions here or use language like the OP did.

My comment was somewhat more of a general one beyond this specific thread with many others being treated the same exact way (most of which don't use colorful language and some that even say are from developers). Even in this thread though, why couldn't there be something useful for the OP (and perhaps some others who might be experiencing similar issues) to see some people who would actually reply on topic saying "hey, even though something like this is a beta and anything can happen, it's not like that for me and some others I know, so you might want to try this and that and see if that might resolve it for you."

And what hurts you to ask a wider community of many more users about something? If anything it can give you more responses (from those who would actually care to respond on topic).

Perhaps this thread isn't the best example of this, but there have been other threads without colorful language where people (who might very well be developers, and have mentioned that they were--whether or not anyone wants to believe them) where people have still simply jumped on them with the pointless "are you a developer" or "it's a beta" without really saying anything meaningful/useful.

I see your point however I can't see this being a major issue nor an excuse for a developer to actively try to belittle there own potential customers. Whilst I can't comment on how others use the beta I myself use it as a user and report any bugs to apple, which can only be a good thing.

Some of these threads which attacks a beta which is for sole purpose of developers and testing shouldn't be slagged off like this. Im not a developer but use it and I have some issues with some of the OS myself but I know this is a price I must pay by using an un-finished product.

iOS7 is great and was indeed needed for Apple to stay in the game and hopefully future updates will refine and make it in a wonderful OS

Why not do Apple a favor and post it on their developer forums?

And if it's posted there and other places?

Did you look and see if the issue is already reported? I don't get why people are complaining about a DEVELOPER BETA! You know what you're getting. Don't complain file a bug ticket.

A Little harsh. should probably calm down. it does you no harm that he is not a developer.:D

Clearly it does do harm. You see how upset he is...So clearly what he is doing is harmful but mostly to him and to the people of this message board who have to sift through all this nonsense.

FYI. You can download apps you paid for for free as many times as you want. You don't need to buy them again.

And what if you want to do that and discuss it with others as well?

But if everything worthwhile should be discussed in Apple's (developer) forums and bug reports, etc., and not here, what are those people looking for here?

I had enough of beta...everything is so slow or stutters like crazy.

Tired of tapping screenshots and realize that the app hasn't load yet.

Can't believe how much I love iOS 6 the moment I restored back to it.
