Hi guys,

I'm rocking an iPad 9th Generation as of 2026, and I'm currently in a dilemma. As y'all know, the iPad 9th Generation is on the border for support territory wth iPadOS 27, which means that I have two options: Upgrade to a new iPad ( I'm thinking of next year's iPad Air 11-in. with M5 ) or keep my own one. I originally plan to do the first one, but seeing prices go up, I'm starting to consider keeping my iPad until 2030 or 2032. I do light gaming, normal web browsing, PDF annotation with Collates, and the usual productivity stuff. I also considered doing light editing work on it before but I got a new MacBook Air so there's no need for that. My battery health is around 88.5% and the A13 Bionic sometimes lags but is still usable. I suspect that's because of my old Wi-Fi network which was stuck in the 2010s.

So what should I do? Please advice.

If you have the cash and want to have the Air, then just get it.

But it's not like the iPad will stop working just because it can't get the newest updates either.
