Understood. But at least these steps will keep me prepared for when, if, it ever is released.

I would like to have the latest IOS version installed on all my devices and have been holding off waiting for an A5 Jailbreak.

Any other suggestions?

Having the latest iOS and jailbreak don't go well together. Decide what you want more.

shoot i should go to apple store fast then right if i want to get my 4s's volume button stickiness fixed...

How could pod2g have an untethered 4S and dev teams still haven't released tools to achieve this at home ?

The exploit I used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account, and can't be released publicly.

It's the same reason why @MuscleNerd has an iPad 2 tethered jailbreak but couldn't distribute it.
So, we need to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.

Why A4 version of Corona was easier to release ?

Because a tethered jailbreak is a good way to install Corona!

Why don't you do a tethered jailbreak then ?

A tethered jailbreak also relies on an exploitable vulnerability that we still haven't found yet !

pod2g, release this stuff quick, [your insult here], I've waited enough now.

If I could, I would !

So pretty much he's saying no jailbreak next week? smh.

I think he's kidding with us. Think of it like this. He knowingly used Apple's code to use the exploit, then announced that there was good chance we'd see an untethered jailbreak in a week or so. It's not like he had a working exploit, then all of a sudden realized he was using an exploit that couldn't be distributed. He must have something else up his sleeve!

That's how I interpret the blog

Pod2g had an untethered JB for 4s but is only for developer account, same as MuscleNerd and Dev teams, but he also had another exploit and with some luck, we could expect a release in a week.

@Pod2g
I made a step today for the A5. With some luck we could expect a release in a week.

@Chronic
next week will be one awesome ****ing week. and I'm not just talking about what we'll see unveiled at CES.

Yes i am sure he knew well and good before making the first tweet he was using Apple code to handle the JB and another method would be needed .

Now people are taking what he said out of context and thinking this is somehow changing what he originally said about a week from now.

He answered some questions was all and you can see when he said he cant release it now but he wishes he could, all that meant was in its current form he cannot.

The guy is not stupid and would have NEVER said a week or so from now unless he had some other trick up his sleeve.

EXACTLY what I've been saying.

pod2g:

Why don't you do a tethered jailbreak then?

A tethered jailbreak also relies on an exploitable vulnerability that we still haven't found yet!

to me this means he has nothing...that he is looking for another exploit.

Crap, I totally overlooked that...:(

I also notice he turned comments off

Well, he has all the major parts in place, this exploit won't be as difficult to find as the others. He wrote the comment regarding a possible one week time table knowing exactly what was left to work out.

Therefore: we'll see a jb within a week or two or three. If CES wasn't going to start I'd say it would have happened sooner.

See I interpret that statement as saying that they would need a different exploit for a tethered, but thats just me hoping for the best I guess
