Ok makes sense, but then why was I told 2-3 weeks when I first placed my order. Why was I not told that the company was closing for a full 10 days and it might take well over a month or two for me to get my order. Just a thought, but I feel a bit deceived. Maybe it was just that single person that took my order.

If I could ID your transaction I would know which sales associate spoke with you and possibly I could recover our recording of the conversation. Right now I cannot say whether or not you were informed the iPad's availability was an ongoing issue, but I think, personally, it's been pretty much common knowledge since the new version was introduced and particularly in the wake of the tsunami.

Our Passover hiatus is widely reported and we start, almost a month before the event, posting notices about it on our home page, on every page in our site and on Twitter, Facebook etc. We make Herculean efforts to ensure this is as well known as can be.

I do regret you were left feeling deceived.

Ordered on 3/30 Ipad2 Black 32GB Wifi... still backordered. I guess supply is still limited, so I will wait, but Apple website says 1-2 weeks. I would imagine they would supply B&H with Ipads for preorders before selling new ones to the public?

I ordred 5/2 from apple and its scheduled to arrive this friday. Left china yesterday.

Id just cancel with B&H and order from apple already.

TWO WEEKS later my iPad 2 shipped today!!!

I want to personally thank Henry for his customer service and giving me an update on my order.


Such great news after I sold my iPad 2 in white (couldn't stand the white for movies) and was left without an iPad for a few weeks and I refused to take a hit by paying tax - that's right - eat it California!!!!
 
Update: Looks like my Ipad2 black 32gb wifi that I ordered on 3/30 shipped today. I'm glad I did not cancel, but was so tempted to.
 
Ordered Black 64GB wifi on 4/8/11, and it shipped today. In the meantime I got one at the Apple Store...

I ordered something (not an iPad) from B & H recently and can attest to the faxt that their Passover closure is VERY explicitly stated all over their website. They do a great job of being very up front about it.

They didn't do a very good job about the shipping. Their site showed the remaining time to order and be shipped before the Passover closure which I did 12 hours before the cut off time but they shipped it on the second day after they reopened. Wasn't a huge deal but I would have ordered it from J&R if I knew.

Anyway, just send my iPad 2 and everything will be forgiven... :)
 
Just ordered mine today. How long is it taking them to fill the orders? I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks, but it turns out to be a month, I might was well just cancel it and check stores constantly or order direct from Apple.com.
 
Cancelled my order and just waltz into an Apple store. 16GB white is in my hands now...
 
Why are all Verizon 3G verions of iPad 2 always in stock?

Is it because:

(1) nobody wants Verizon 3G iPad2? (Verizon claims people are switching from AT&T to them every single day?)

(2) Apple made more Verizon iPads

(3) people from overseas GSM countries buying up iPad 2 in the US and shipping them overseas?
