I have ordered ipad 2 3G 16GB on 28/3.

Still showing as backdated. Checked with Live chat on Monday, was informed that my place in line is #5.

Checked today, still at # 5, custermer service informed that they have not received any fresh stock since then.

No ipad2 till passover closure is over :(
 
I just called customer service and they said it was "hard to tell" where I am in line but they said I wouldn't be getting part of the next shipment.

I asked about when I'd get a refund if I were to cancel. Unfortunately, the refund department is closed for Passover already so I wouldn't get a refund until they return. So, I've decided to leave me order open.

My 32 gig black wi-fi order w/them has been open since 4/4/11.

I am on the same boat. I was so anxious to get mine but I am not as much anymore and I don't really care when I get it anymore. Been playing with my wife's anyways so I'll get mine when I get it. I am just going to leave my order open for now. If they don't ship within a week of opening after Passover, I will probably cancel my order and get it when supply meets demand or I can get a good deal through third part channels. This should also give it enough time for manufacturing and software issues to be sorted out.
 
Hey all. Please post if anyone has had any updates. Its going to be over a month since I ordered and it is still showing up as backordered. I figured that B&H would have received a lot of shipping over the Passover closure and would start shipping out starting today but mine has yet to update. Wondering if anyone else had any luck?
 
Since they close over passover they do not order items to be delivered during that time and the items that are delivered during that time cannot be accepted since no one is working in the warehouse. I believe they should be getting a good shipment monday.

Tell your uncle to cancel and order from the Apple store, the wait has been 1-2 weeks for the last 3 weeks, he would have had his by now.

So I ordered my 32gb black wifi ipad2 from B&H on march 31st. These people have the WORST customer service I've ever encountered. I've been calling them for a week now to try and get information on my ipad. They will never tell you when or how much of a shipment they are expecting. They will never tell you where you stand on the wait list. When I ordered my ipad, they told me 2-3 weeks tops. Its been almost 6. When I asked them to upgrade my shipping they flat out said NO. I would never order from them. I've been calling around to see if anyone else has them in stock and by far J&R has been the most helpful. They tell you exactly when and how much of a stock they'll be getting.

Today is May 9th. Finally gave up. Just cancelled B&H order. Called J&R and they say estimated delivery is 3 weeks, but no guarantees. Bite the bullet and placed order from Apple store. Apple store says will ship on May 23, arrive on May 27. We'll see...:rolleyes:

B&H regrets your dissatisfaction. We will not tell you how many of any product we anticipate receiving nor when because the assurances of this nature we receive from our suppliers is often optimistic or downright unrealsitic. This thread is now 38 pages long and I'm pretty sure I've said this before here. If (for example) Apple tells us to expect 50 on May 9th and we get 45 on May 10th, but we told you 50 on May 9th, we come off looking idiotic, not Apple. Any retailer who is willing to make assurances of this sort, particularly for a super-hot and difficult-to-obtain product like the iPad 2 is either overoptimistic themselves or careless, IMO.

Likewise, providing some arbitrary "where am I in line" number is equally unwise. First, as I said above, if we assure you we'll get yours on Tuesday and we don't, we look like idiots and second, let's say we do get 50. Everyone of the first 50 in our queue us equally number one. If you're number 50 and we tell you your iPad is coming Tuesday and it doesn't, you're #2.

There are, I believe 18 different iPad 2 models. it would be nice if Apple shipped a boatload of each today, but that's obviously not going to happen. B&H is as eager to get these as our customers are and as eager as our customers to fulfill every order as speedily as possible.

Ok makes sense, but then why was I told 2-3 weeks when I first placed my order. Why was I not told that the company was closing for a full 10 days and it might take well over a month or two for me to get my order. Just a thought, but I feel a bit deceived. Maybe it was just that single person that took my order.

Also thanks for giving me some sort of a reply on this thread.
 
I was happy when I ordered a white 3G AT&T 64 on 4/27 and asked the rep about the estimated waiting time and he said "we just received a shipment and will send it out in two days". He must have mixed it with the verizon model because my order status is still backordered. :( As I see people are waiting for theirs since March so I still have time. :mad:
(Apple store order would cost me ~$80-90 more because they don't ship to APO and using mail forwarder would add the tax + shipping.)
