I can upload a youtube video if you like explaining how to hold an ipad and push the home button in either orientation without obscuring the screen. It's actually quite a simple process that I stumbled upon.
No need. I have an iPad2, and of course the home button can be hit without blocking the screen. Question is, how far does your hand have to move to avoid crossing straight over the screen on average to hit Home? This is about efficency compared to having a button that is always in the same place relative to your hand. Didn't even think about it until I had an android 3.0 tablet in my hand to compare iOS and a fixed Home button on my iPad to. Makes a noticable difference.
As for 4D, now I'm fifD+. So I guess you could be right.
