Looks pretty good. Can't wait to play it. Looking forward to more games using the Unreal Engine. The possibilities are endless with Unreal.

I like Infinity Blade, although its a little repetitive. I like the graphics in the game, for something the size of the iPhone and iPad the graphics are awesome. I can't wait to see what comes out in the next year in the terms of productivity apps.

This is probably a stupid question, but as I'm about to buy my very first iPad I'm wondering if the apps I've purchased on my iPhone are transferrable to my iPad?

ie Ive got RR 1 & 2, Avalon HD, Angry Birds and a bunch of other games purchased on my iPhone 4, will my iPad need all these apps purchasing again?

Am a little confused how the whole iTunes sync thing will happen with 2 devices.

You can use the iPhone apps on the iPad but if they aren't universal apps then they will show up in the center of the screen with the same size dimensions as the phone (not pixel dimensions). You can double the pixels to fill the screen but it usually doesn't look good.

In many cases there are iPad equivalents to the apps you have but they are separate charges. Only universal apps will work natively on both phone and pad without the need to pay more.

The sync will work fine. You can pick and choose which apps you want to sync with each device. However if there is an app that can't work on a particular device it can't be loaded onto it.

Physical buttons...

Not to mention the PSP2 has a quad core processor and apparently quite a beast of a GPU.

"The-type-that-will-make-the-iPad2-crap-its-pants" kind of specs. And for less money.

You're talking about the system that is still eight months away from launch and doesn't have an announced price, yes?

PSP2 will be competing with the iPad 3, and we don't know the price.

I'll grant the physical buttons though.

Thanks for that, Im guessing the universal apps are the ones that appear at the very top of the app list in iTunes, separate to the main body of apps?

voice commands

Do they or are they going to implement a way to have voice commands to these games?

You sync your new device and choose what you want synced into it. The devices are treated as individual items. You only run into issues if you are syncing the same device to multiple computers for the same type of media (at which then 'manually' choosing photos or music or movies for 'drag-n-drop' is the only real method)

And as another poster replied, if an app is not universal or optimized for iPad you'll have it scaled smaller on the screen with the option to 'pixel double' it. This scaling works very well for video or most games, but leads to poor reading of text-based apps. The text is rendered in a blocky double-pixel size with the antialiasing showing significantly. It is up to the developer to decide if they wish to make a universal or unique (seperately paid app) for the iPad. Many are offering "HD" versions, the a significant number give you a universal app. It does vary though.

You were implying quad core is 1 year ahead tech, and that's not the case if Sony can release a product within this year. Which has quad core CPU and GPU. By the way, after looking through ARM's website, it states the A9 chip was released In 2009, theres no reason why in 2011 companies can't be utilising the quad core form, the reason being companies don't want to push for something that would increase costs. But the technology is certainly there. Hence the NGP releasing with this tech THIS year.
That's not what I said at all. A generation doesn't mean a year ahead. It's simply the next product cycle, which as I said is being released in the fall/holiday season. I think you've fundamentally misunderstood the nature of my posts.

What??:confused::confused:

Where the hell did I ever argue that? I've been saying that quadcore has been slated for production at that time anyway. So its not like they revolutionized anything here, they're just getting one of the first products out after the revision to quadcore. Comparing the NGP's slated specs to the ipad2 specs is literally comparing two different generations.

Here is Nvidias roadmap for the quadcore version of the Tegra. Production in August for delivery in the fall. Now, Sony will probably be using its own chips for the NGP, but the industry is pretty much in lockstep roadmap wise so this is pretty much what we should expect from all the big guys.

Save your breath, I dont even think this guy realises that november this year is "the next holiday season"

lol.

3 things,

1. Apple should stamp on companies releasing an iPhone and separate iPad app at double the iPhone app price im pretty sure its just one the same compile with double resolution artwork (ill admit i could be wrong, my development knowledge is limited, but it does to me seem like needless gouging of customers for free money)

2. We NEED a bluetooth or plug in game pad for the iPad, or a gamepad/sleeve for the iPhone/iPod touch with physical sticks and buttons. then we can have PROPER games. As much as i like the IOS games for quick bashes, id love to be able to play an unreal tournament without having to obscure screen real-estate and without have to adjust to massively inaccurate control schemes .

3. Someone slap Blizzard and get them to release Starcraft on the iPad.

3 is the most important of these !!

Charlie Sheen*

*frickin' rock star from Mars, always winning

;)

Seriously though, the game looks great :)

* t think it's time to stop this nonsense

i have to say the ipad1 was already amazing and magical but this one may be even better that what we might expect at the moment.

My PS3 Joypad works on my Macbook via blue-tooth, no drivers needed, I wonder if Apple would allow this on the iPad/iPhone via iOS?

I own an iPhone 4 and would like an iPad but I still think they're a bit lacking, I would rather they upped the memory to 1GB than put those two garbage cameras in.

Trouble with Apple is they drip feed us technology so we'll never get everything we want in one go!
