I bought one yesterday...it's only money. Almost positive I'll spring for the 3 when it comes out, but it could be more than 6 months - and these things seem to hold value pretty well

Bad thing is the cost of a case which may or may not fit a new version - and loses value when re-sold I'm thinking

I purchased mine yesterday also. I've actually owned 4 of them, all with some sort of screen problem. I just decided to wait 60 days so they could work out some of the problems. No problems with the 5th!

I don't know that I'd wait for iPad 3...but I'd definitely consider waiting for an iOS 5.1 update, the current version is pretty awful on iPad.

I disagree. iOS5 on my iPad 2 has improved fluidity massively for flicking through pictures, between folders, loading and rendering website content, tab browsing, the reader button. Just a few things, which have made it far better than 4.3.5 imo.

Depends what you're doing with it. The music playback app is so over the top horrible I'd avoid iOS5 on iPad just based on that.
