Hey everyone, I downloaded Azul and it works fantastically, except I can't figure out how to hide the darn controls (volume, play/fwd buttons etc) Any ideas? Or is this just the way this app is? Any other suggestions on a good app for avi files? (To play off the iPad, not streaming or anything)

Could someone recommend me one of the video apps that support video out and supports .avi's?

zumocast is air video taken to the next step

zumocast can perform live conversion of the movie and stream it to the iphone similiar to air video, however you can also get zumocast to live convert the video file and download, not stream, and via WiFi or 3G it to your phone so you can watch it later on without the need for a data connection. no need for itunes at all

zumocast also supports music files, both streaming and downloading, which air video doesn't do

to bad motorola bought out zumocast and its no longer in the app store

My first recommendation would be cinexplayer.. However it doesn't support AC3 audio nor the mkv wrapper. There is a 2.0 beta floating around (which I am way excited about) but for one those could be big limitations. It supports video out quite nicely.

Another solid one is AV Player HD. Unlike cinexplayer it supports ac3 and mkv and, like Cinexplayer, it does a nice job of outputting video.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply they don't play okay. The play fine and I never had sound sync problems with them. But the scrubbing was poor and the video quality was muted/murky compared to cinex and isquint conversion. But it did work fine apart from the few times it crashed.

i've had absolutely no issues with video quality, if it was good quality on the PC it was the same on the iPad, if it was rubbish on the PC, it was rubbish on the iPad.
