Thank god I managed to unload a 64 gb att for $1300 (domestically) two days ago. Resale market is plummeting relative to where it was.

You gotta laugh at the noobs who paid that much just to save the 2 weeks without having one. I almost almost pulled the trigger on a 64gb 3G from someone on CL for 1k, I had cash in hand and was getting in my car to meet him when he called and backed out of the deal, saying he thought he could get more money. That was my limit, and even then I felt very stupid literally wasting money, so I told him no thanks. 4 days later my wife picked me up exactly what I wanted from the Apple store.

People on eBay are still bidding over $1100 for the 64GB 3G model, how can you explain that?

They were going for closer to 1500, 1100 is down quite a bit. But you still have plenty of countries which are not getting the ipad this week. Beyond that don't forget ebay thrives on idiots who don't research the market and overpay. The craze my not be completely over, but it's certainly dying down fast.

Yup - dont believe China or Hong Kong is getting iPad 2 today so there will still be huge demand in Asia

The guy I had been selling to told me the same thing. He got word out of Hong Kong on Thursday that demand went way down after the announcement that the int'l release would go on as planned.

I'm gonna miss these fat wads of cash landing in my hands every couple of days!

Not enough profit to fool with at anything less than $1200 if you are the seller. If you factor in that ebay and paypal takes 9% of the transaction. So in this case it would be roughly $100. Tack in another $20 for shipping if you are sending for free with insurance for a total of $120. This iPad with tax is roughly $879. So at $1100, the seller is only making a little over $100. Big deal.

Regarding a buyer, if they don't have availability in their own country, I can see how one might want to pay more to have it now, but not myself.

I really feel for you dude.

You're quite correct, OP didn't actually specify whether the scalper was a china man or a china woman. How very sexist to just assume.

You're quite incorrect.

Chinaman is a derogatory slur against chinese people. It's akin to the N word.

I'm sure you will of course report those fat wads of cash to the IRS as soon as possbile, right?

I would only hope that they would get stuck with Ipads that would only sell for the retail price. People are crazy.
