Prepared to ship doesn't always mean it will ship earlier regardless of how far in advance it is. There's a chance, but all dates are always estimates, so keep that in mind.

iPad 2 Shipping Estimates for Online Orders Improve to 2-3 Weeks

Exactly!! Why hasn't my ship date moved up at all?? If I ordered one today it would say an earlier ship date than the one I ordered 3 weeks ago
You might check it again - mine moved up a whole week today.
Ordered my iPad here in Australia on the 25th of March. It still says it won't ship until the 4th of May.
My grey cover arrived already though! LOL.
Kinda frustrating since I have friends who are going into stores and picking up iPads!

Woke up this morning to an email from Apple that my Black-32 shipped today (the 4th) - original ship date was the 11th.
2 Ipad 2s on the way bumped up from delivering by May 3rd to delivering by April 27th. Ordered them March 31st. Smart covers should be delivered on thursday.
I could have bought 4 iPad 2s today.......I was at Target in Sherman Oaks, and they had 4 white 32 GB wifi+3G just sitting there.....collecting dust......waiting to be purchased.......
I decided against buying one, which, of course, was the smart choice. I'm waiting for iPad 3 to upgrade.

I want to purchase one also, but I'm not quite sure.. If the 5th gen. iPhone is released this summer rather than September, I might buy my iPad 2 on the same day as the 5th gen. iPhone. If September, I'll probably wait until the 3rd gen. iPad to upgrade.
I ordered my 16G, Wi-Fi, Black on March 21st, based on the Order Acknowledgement e-mail I received, it states; Ships April 25, Delivers April 28, 2011.
But when I actually click on the Order number, it takes me to the Apple Store, Order Details, and says: Ships April 21, Delivers Apr 25, 2011.
And then again, when I called Apple directly, he said the ship date was moved up to April 14!!
We'll see.....

I ordered my IPAD WI-FI 64GB BLACK on March 18. 2011, and it still says

Given that Apple is now saying that an iPad 2 order placed today will ship in 2 to 3 weeks, and, every time that I've called and spoken to a "representative" I've been told that all orders will be filled in the order that they were received, so I shouldn't place another order today.
I sure hope get an an email from Apple by Friday April 8, 2011 that my order has shipped (that would make it 3 weeks after I placed the order.)

I was walking around my local Best Buy and they just got a shipment of 4 32gb wifi white. Picked one up and cancelled my apple.com order. Luck seems like the best way to get an iPad 2 before your online order

If this means the demand is easing hopefully there will be some Ipad 2's for sale soon at my local Best Buy.
Nothing here, I'm in London and ordered mine on the 26/3 and estimated delivery is 5/5. I wasn't going to get an iPad 2 but decided to treat myself as it's my 21st! lol

I ordered a Smart Cover and estimated shipping was 3 weeks, and it arrived on Monday over a week early, hopefully the same thing happens with the iPad!

Are you asking apple to ship each iPad as soon as it's available or to only ship when both are available? I asked for it to ship my two together which was the hold up. I called apple and asked them to split the order and I ended having both ship within 48 hours of me calling while the first one shipped that night. If I had not called they would have sat for a bit at apple according to the apple rep.
I ordered mine March 18 also and ship date still saying the 21st. Friday April 8th will be three weeks. I hope I get an email
