Sorry, thread is closed.

Can't say I blame them to be honest - they really do need to clamp down and stop any ridiculous rumours such as this one.

Anyway, it's nothing to do with radiation - it's an adverse reaction to the reality distortion field caused by a lack of kool-aid ;)

Please tell me why it is ridiculous. Believe me I am immediately with you, if you bring me a good argument against it.

Hey,

I purchashed an iPad 2 in the UK yesterday, and today I had spots and rash on my arms and legs. I ate the same stuff, did the same routine, but got this reaction.

I know it's insane, but i'm affraid that it's from the iPad. Could it be that some radioactively polluted parts from Japan are in it?

Were these iPads assembled before the earthquake? How much time does it take for the parts from japan to travel to china?

The chance of this happening in 2 weeks is really small, but still. What do you think? I'm kind panicing. Help please

(no troll)

I know a lot of people are just wired to think in such ways and can't help it, but still...REALLY? Kind of reminds me of the mailman who wouldn't deliver mail to a certain home on his route because he believed that the resident had AIDS. That kind of baseless paranoia just isn't healthy.

1) Radiation sickness doesn't cause the symptoms the OP is experiencing

2) The manufacturing plant for iPads is nowhere near the site of the disaster

3) The majority of the iPad is Aluminium, which will only become radioactive if bombarded with alpha particles. However, there have been no alpha-emitters released from Fukushima: What's been released are gamma emitters (cesium-134 and cobalt) and a beta emitter in the form of iodine-131. The last one is the thing that poses the biggest threat if it gets into the food chain as beta particles are pretty nasty once inside your body (they can't penetrate skin very well though).

Thank you for arguing, you convinced me with the third point.
