With 31 magnets, I wonder if I'm going to be dragging a trail of paperclips and odd little metal bits around everywhere I take my ipad2??
Think of how stationary it will be on a metal desk!

This has to be hell for the poor compass.

That's one question I've had about Smart Covers. So you can fold it flat around the back of the iPad? I do this with my current iPad cover all the time, but I've yet to see a product photo with the cover wrapped flat around the back.
21- that's odd
Or how mobile it will be in an MRI machine.
All of these magnets has a downside. I'm finding AA batteries and all sorts of stuff stuck to the side of my iPad 2.
Yes, I want to know this too. Does anyone here have one and can give us the answer? Can you fold it round while leaving it attached to the device?
Well, at least there is something there to justify the cost. Makes the 29$ they are charging for the bumper look even more silly.

If the magnets were strong enough to do that, you wouldn't stand any chance at all of removing the cover from the iPad...

All the videos hinted at it, but it's interesting to see evidence that these are righty-only covers. I was thinking about getting one for my mom--she uses a stylus when annotating images--but since she's a lefty it looks like shed have to completely remove the cover every time.
Flanders and the Leftorium might need to come out with a southpaw edition.
Apple hurt innocent animals procuring the leather. They should research extinct lifeforms instead of electronics.

I assume a magnet needs to be fairly strong to affect a HD inside the aluminum enclosure of a MacBook and I assume modern HDs have some degree of magnetic shielding, but still, having more magnets in my computer bag makes me a bit uneasy.
Is anybody worried that these magnets might potentially affect the data on a magnetic HD in a macBook stored next to an iPad? Or are they not strong enough for that?
How do you know that the animals from which the leather was obtained are innocent? They may be guilty of horrific crimes.

HDDs are far more resistant than you may think. Often even very strong magnets won't do any harm.
I reckon the cover magnets shouldn't cause any harm.
