Hi all,

I am not getting the smart case because I am not a big fan of it. However, I'd still like something to stand my iPad up when I'm watching something or to allow me to type easily in landscape mode.

This stand looks nice for propping up the iPad tall for watching things but not for typing. It doesn't give you that angle that the original apple iPad case would give to allow you to type in portrait mode:

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Man, SOMEONE needs to come up with something that doesn't look like a dying robot clutching the iPad. Those are some seriously ugly stands. It's a sleek slab of metal and glass, not a friggin snare drum.

Bookstand/holder

Bought one at Barnes & Noble for the iPad, use the same one for iPad2

I just got this stand yesterday. And no, it cannot prop it up at a narrow angle for landscape typing as you said. I played around with angling the 2 arm extensions to see if I can get it in such a position, but no go. For me, I have the Smart Cover, so I use the cover to prop it for the typing position. Also, if you use a cover, skin, or hard case for the back, you should still be able to use the stand with it.

Overall, I do like it and I really think it works well for standing up your iPad for tabletop viewing.

OK, that cracked me up!

And he's right.

I love this one for 'on the go' use. Works great with the original iPad and the iPad 2. I like the JustMobile UpStand for use on my desk.

How is it in typing mode? With those little tabs sticking up holding the bottom, do they get in the way at all?
