iPad 2 UK Apple online order thread

You guys think your delivery dates sounds bad from the apple store.

Estimated Shipping: 25 Apr, 2011

I'm Wishing they didn't take the money until the item is dispatched incase argos, comet or tesco get some stock early next week Then i could jump right on it,
5 days to refund your money for a item that's no where near to even being dispatched

They don't take money till they dispatch it - they just put a temporary hold on the payment for a few days then it drops off.

Does that mean the money will be released back to my account early next week? At the mo it states the funds are un-available on my credit card account
I can even see 3 payments
1 @ £1
1 @ £59 for case
1 @ 479 for iPad
Unsure what the first one is about....

Ordered mine online already but had the same issue as u guys. In the end I went to comet and picked one up. Will be cancelling my order on Monday when I can get into my work emails to find the order number.
I wouldn't even waste time with apple online. Tesco, comet, etc will all get more come Monday

Try not to forget there are plenty of people who ordered online from apple wo now have a ipad 2 and have / will be canceling their order so yours should get bumped up the list to be dispatched sooner.
Perhaps I have taken a risk (so be it if I have) but have cancelled my online orders, see how long for funds to be back released on account and then will try the apples stores in London. Seems the 3G ones are selling most and I want a wifi one

Oh well see what happens with credit card account tomorrow. It should only take a few days I hope, then can head off to Covent garden/regent street.
Want to look elsewhere but can't find anybody who has stock. Think I will just wait for apple. Still had no email to confirm my order. Should I be worried?
My wife is in the same boat, she placed an order almost as soon as they were available but it hasn't moved at all. Strangely the money hasn't been taken/reserved either which is usually instant with Apple orders. Got the email confirmation through yesterday for the order.

I ordered from Apple Store at 12.29am Friday morning for the iPad 2 and have a 26 April delivery date.
I could have ordered from Best Buy online Friday evening but hesistated too long. I then ordered from John Lewis online, then cancelled (wrong colour). Then Tesco Direct had them available so ordered the one I wanted, and it was discounted. Will be collecting on Monday then cancelling my Apple order. Already today gone and collected a Smart Cover from Argos. I am prepared!
The moral? Keep checking if you want one. They do come available elsewhare.

Same here. No money taken/reserved either. Main thing is having the web number. The funds are there for when they wish to take them.
