Somebody has to drive it to your house. The particle mover has not yet materialzed in the world. Jobs is working on it though.

A FedEx truck delivering it along a route is more efficient than a single purpose trip in a 3000 lb car to only purchase a 2 lb package

I really wanted to make this my first iPad! I'm going to wait for the 3rd, I wanted a little bit more from this one.

And you will have missed out on 2 years of enjoyment.

The product will never be perfect, that's what innovation and product revisions are for (plus you need scale of economies to kick in and keep the prices affordable). I prefer to buy v1, upgrade to v2 (resale values are very good), upgrade to v3, etc. Maximum joy that way, and not much more money than waiting years to get "the features you want".

Completely agree. You only live once.

What's with the way the youtube video is embedded in this article if viewed on an iPad ?

The play button is not circular like it used to be and no controls pop up when you play it. I've encountered this problem all over the web. Does anyone know what this is about ?

Stuck Pixel

Just my luck.. I just returned home from the store with my 32GB iPad2 and immediately after turning it on noticed one Red stuck pixel in the lower left hand of the screen. Bummers :(

The HDMI output is supposed to be mirroring the iPad screen, so is it always outputting 4:3? Like in the promo videos?

If you start watching a 720p 16:9 video will it fill the whole TV?

I believe you can change the output for video to widescreen in the relevant tab within the settings menus; you can also switch between PAL and NTSC (PAL off and PAL on) output.

Watching People Open Boxes = GET A LIFE!!!

This is a joke right? Who cares about someone opening a box?

Oh wait!!! You actually like this? LOL!!!!

I restored my iPad 2 from a backup of my iPad 1, and the multitouch gestures were still there - but there is no Setting to turn them on and off from the Settings app (I just used them on "reflex" and was surprised when it worked). Of course they work much better with the increased speed of the 2...

If the app has video output capabilities, then it will output in widescreen. This was explained in Macworld's review. Based on how I read it, it will output in 1080p widescreen, but it's not clear whether it will play 1080p videos ... it should since it has plenty of processing power.

That iPad 2 [is that what it's officially called? The iPad 2?] video on the main article. What does the guy say at 7 secs? "Know your boats"???

Score

I stopped by a walmart, they had the model I wanted (one w one b 16GB wifi only) and a few more. I was the first person there and only had to wait about an hour. the line formed rapidly after 4:30. 50 people in line for 9 ipads and they all pissed I got two.

Then I went to the apple store to get my covers and got to skip the line to get em... in and out in 5 min. it was my day evidently!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

I returned mine for a refund because of this exact same issue. I also had several scratches on the back of it. I'll just wait to buy another one when enough is in stock for an actual exchange if needed.

That PCMagazine review has to be the skankiest video review I've ever seen, both visually and production wise. What's with the background and the lighting? Do they have some policy at PCMagazine that video reviews must be done in some dingy bar?

Oh no, I just noticed what looks like a face with two eyes and a some teeth on my screen. Never mind, it's just a reflection of my smiling face.

And to all the naysayers, if don't like the iPad 2 then don't buy one. When the iPad 3 comes out I'll just eBay this iPad 2 and get a new one, and so on, and so on.

rationalization

I have zero need for the iPad 2. My only Apple device is the iPhone 3GS, 32GB. My original rationalization was "if iPad 2 has retina, day one purchase. Otherwise, wait until iPad 3"

Unfortunately I'm having rationalization creep. By that, I mean "well, I could buy iPad 2 now, and when iPad 3 comes around, give old one to mom." See how that works? Makes me the good son AND gives me new technology.

Man. Rationalization is evil.

OKAY EVERyBOdy LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF

I just dropped my ipad 2 on concrete completely breaking the screen.

Thanks goodness I purchased it using my AMEX and its covered under the 90 day accidental damage policy.

Pretty, but still nothing on my 13" MBP for ease of use or function (and a touch screen is not a function, it's an interface). And, seriously, using one of those to shoot video or photos...? You can't be serious.
