I'm posting this from the iPad. Finger sliding feels fine. And corners are staying down, though obviously I won't be tossing this thing around till it has more time to dry.

One more complaint. Somehow I got a little dent in the front on a part that covers the bezel. Not sure how that happened (looks like it was squished against a grain of sand even though it didn't. I'll let you guys know if it goes away.

Also, to give some perspective on the edge gaps, they're about the width of the edge of a dime. So theyre not as huge as they look in the pictures but I don't think there should be any gap at all.

Are you serious? There have been pics of Ghost Armor, Phantomskinz, and BSE (probably others), and all have been better. I have BSE and my fit is better than the pics you show. The holes line up MUCH better, the corners are actually covered, and on the front the skin goes up to the edge. I really can't see how you can compare your pics to the other pics and not see that the Zagg is bad, at least for the iPad 2.

I'm not trying to defend zagg I just haven't seen actual pics of the fitment of the other skins. Do you have a link to a specific one? Trust me, I don't want scratches. I want whatever product works best and zagg has been enough of a pain in the ass that I have no problems switching to another companies products.

Personally, I haven't bought Zagg in a couple years, so it's possible their product has changed, but based on what I have heard, read, and seen in person (sister-in-law and niece have it on their phones) I don't think it has. IMO, there are better products out there, but the average user does not know about them, because Zagg is one of the few you can pick up in a large chain retail store.

Below are links to some example pics other users on this board have already posted. I'm sorry, I made the assumption that you may have followed some of the other skin threads. To me, every skin pictured looks better than the Zagg example you gave.

BSE (member: Rkdiddy): https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/12200562/. BSE has the best corner cut-out/method I have seen so far.

Phantomskinz (member: icecrystal23): https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/12219216/. Phantomskinz is the only skin to completely surround the speaker grill, volume rocker area, etc. Not a huge fan of the corner design.

Ghost Armor (member: lsbuffs): https://picasaweb.google.com/lsteller/GhostArmorIPad2?authkey=Gv1sRgCP-EvdGrppjHFQ&feat=directlink#. Strange corner design, but it works.

Wrapsol (member: boshii): https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/12199302/. Too expensive IMO, and similar corner design to Phantomskinz.

IMO all these look better than the Zagg in regards to design and fit. I think Zagg biggest failure was their design (or lack thereof) for the corners. How does a skin that's designed to make the device scratch-proof leave so much exposed? It's too bad too, because for a back skin, Zagg could have been a good choice because it has a much more tackier grip feeling which I think some may haver preferred for the back of their iPad.

i had gotten the same story a few days ago. but i'm getting used to it. Verizon charged me for an iPad 2 on the 11th which I can't cancel, can't track, and going by heresay, the soonest I'll get it is the 25th of march.

You actually CAN cancel it - I had the same thing happen and called back a couple of times (first getting the run around, store telling me only customer service could cancel, customer service telling me the opposite, getting transferred and disconnected, etc.) until I got escalated to someone who could give me a trouble ticket number and tell me it would definitely be cancelled. I also disputed the charge with AmEx since they charged me on the 11th for a product they did not have in stock nor did they have any idea when they'd actually get any, after telling me I'd have it Saturday morning the 12th and even charging me for Saturday delivery - Verizon issued my refund on the 21st and I picked up an AT&T 3G iPad 2 at Best Buy a couple of days later.

Got my Zagg this afternoon. (03/05 Ordered, Got it finally after many email exchanged with their customer support)

After open it, found that,
Not only it doesn't cover corners much,
but also It doesn't have microSIM slot open for AT&T 3G iPad 2.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME I will definitely be looking into these. Thank you.

Just placed my order with bse. Just wish they had an overnight shipping option. Thank you all.

I have a wrapsol skin and it fits perfectly it was really easy to put on and i started using it 5 minutes after application. There really is no need to have to wait hours after install to use the ipad.

2 things

1. I requested a rma from zagg. Instead of making me return the shield they said they were just going to go ahead and refund the money. In the amount of $4.00 that's not a typo. It's a $40 skin and I just checked my bank account. They really only refunded me $4. Now I have to fight with them over this as well.

2. I directed them to my post about the fitment and they responded with the following.

Hello Jeremy,
*
Thanks you for contacting ZAGG, where we are Zealous About Great Gadgets! My name is Stephen N and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

After reviewing the image in the link provided, their are certain areas where the invisibleSHIELD wasn't aligned perfectly. The invisibleSHIELD does have a stretching ability and when doing so, you would have one area where the alignment and then the other side not so much. The invisibleSHIELD design was designed in mine to not cover all the way to the edge. The reason for this is due to if it did, any light friction would peel the edge up. So what our designers did was to shorten the design all around by .5 to 1mm. This is shown in the images provided. Its understandable now that trying to fit the shield all the way to the edge may have caused some alignment issues. It is also known that some shield cut may not be perfect which also could be the case. We would gladly replace your invisibleSHIELD if it was badly cut, but judging from your images, it seem to be correct. As for your SHIELDspray running out, personally, which is not a company recommendation, I would also use that form of solution.
*
I do appreciate your statement and critique of your invisibleSHIELD and you are correct, with the invisibleSHIELD, you do need patience.

So my best skins ever skin came in today. Will apply it when I get home. Much less orange peel effect and much smoother feeling, but it doesn't feel as rubbery as the zagg (though the fitment looks WAY better) has anyone ever scratched their iPad or anything THROUGH one of these skins?

My iPads a little dented now, hoping that doesn't effect the shield too much :-(

Just installed it. the fit is sooo much better. only thing im worried about is no matter how i lined it up, one side of the back would be just enough over the curve that it would catch if it rubbed against anything. I'm assuming once it's drier and stickier it will obviously be less sensitive but i wonder what that means for dirt/grime down the line.

but let me just say, the corners look great. nothing will be absolutely 100% form fitting but these come damn close. they take a lot of patience to get right but they're worth the effort.

Still waiting for your skin to be dispatched?

I have been emailing Zagg and waiting for my full body shield to be posted for almost a month. Decided to cancel it today and order a BSE instead. I emailed Zagg this morning to cancel the order and within 1 hour I got an email to tell me it had been shipped.

Coincidence?

I used Zagg on my iPhone 3 and have it on my iPhone 4. I have been reasonably happy with it on those phones, although it does sometimes come a bit loose when the phone is in my pocket and gets hot.

The shield for the iPad 2, which I received about two weeks ago, is a complete piece of *****. I echo many of the above comments--it isn't cut right, doesn't fit right, has a tendency to stretch when being removed from the sheet it comes on, doesn't ship with enough solution, and their customer support is lacking, to say the least.

I'm trashing my iPad shield. I'm also trashing (or at least not using) my smart cover. I haven't decided on a replacement yet, but I'm leaning towards a Portenza or a Marware.

Zagg, it was a fun little fling. But it got a bit dirty at the end, and frankly I'm glad it's over.
